i've been snacking on handfuls of cashews and a mixture of nuts and its been upping my fat to a pretty high number, around 50-70g total a day. what is a typical fat-carb-protein ratio to follow. ive been using fitday and it has me at
f - 25% c - 25% p - 50%
are these ideal?

What do you mean "typical"? How does your body respond to carbs and fat? Are you going to compete?
Those are important questions to ask. For "general" puporses 15-20% of your diet should come from fat.

im not competing. im just looking to maintain a balance. i dont really know how i respond to carbs. it sounds silly i know. i've been cycling my carbs for the past few weeks, and i maintined the weight, but im looking tighter and my belly is becoming more flat (not that its washboard, but its not a bulbous anymore ahah)

Those numbers look pretty good. If you are ahppy with the results than dont change it.

I think you may have to play around with your diet a bit, everyone is different. I personally only eat fats aka almonds or natural PB with protein, NEVER with my carbs.

I was just thinking about making a post about nuts today when i saw this thread.
What is the best Nut to snack on when dieting?
Ive been eating a handful of cashew nuts in the evening (after i take protein drink after workout) but i dont know if cashews contain the right 'ingredients' to be eating at that time. I only eat them cause i like them.

Cashews are great. Just eat the raw ones. Almonds are great as well as walnuts.

I have to take a handful, put them in a bowl and put the packet away. If i took a packet without the bowl.... the whole lot would be down my neck in no time without even realising i was eating. ;D

Just ration how ever many you are supposed to have per meal and put them in zip lock bags. Only eat that amount. Use a scale or measuring cup.... Hide the rest away in the cabinet

Lol, ive actually never even seen a clip of that movie. But for my own tastes i would have preferred a line up of Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry and a couple others.... but with the same storyline. ;D
Yeah dont worry, i COULD eat the whole packet in an instance, but i only take a handful of nuts at a time and put the rest away.
