I cant stop drinking coffee.....I take it straight so no added junk. I have an occasional diet soda but those are easy for me to quit. Anybody got any feedback as to whether coffee is bad or good when cutting?

All day and night........I get in pretty good shape,so no problem there,but I know I should cut way back..........but I love the stuff!! #smileycoffee9lo#

That's one of those topics that seems to go back and forth. Some people say drink coffee before cardio for an extra boost and others say it dehydrates you. I read more negative about what is put in the coffee (sugar, milk, creamer,.....). I like a weak cup of coffee (compaired to restaurant brew). Can't see a definite reason to give it up.

Like Tim, I drink ALOT of coffee---I really think it is a great help when I'm on a pre-contest diet. Besides the coffee, I also drink a ton of green tea,.... again, especially pre-contest.

It will dehydrate you, since caffiene is a diuretic, though mild. Drink the coffee pre-cardio, then keep a bottle/jug of water off to the side, in order to not get dehydrated. Unless your severly dehydrated, then the effect that coffee will cause, will be so insignifigant, you need not worry about it.

I'm not sure about this but I heard the more you drink coffee the less of a dehydration affect it has on you.
I for one drink coffee precardio but still bring water with me. I'm am a HUGE advocate of Green Tea though. It does sooo much for you body.
