Do you guys think you can be or know of anyone who is a successful trainer or nutritionist who does not have college degree? Reason for asking is I'm getting real tired of all these classes I don't need, and don't do well in because all I think or want to study/read about is Nutrition or Training. There must be a way to get the credit without having to take years of course that our pointless to my goal, etc Philosophy, sociology...

First I got certified. Then my clientele just kept pilling up, so... One thing led to another and here I am..
I never even advertised. Just word of mouth

I believe that if you have the desire and dedication, you can do just about anything! Regardless of education.

Same here bro, atleast that's what my mind is set on though, but now a days it seems like no one cares or wants to hear what you have to say unless you have a degree next to your name, but i think with my will and passion for this sport i will be able to make this a reality.

See. I have a serious passion for what I do. I change peoples bodies and lives on a daily basis. I take them places the never thought that they could reach. This is VERY gratifying for me. My clients could care less if I had any cert. or degree at all. To be honest, no one ever asks. They just see what I do and sing up. I dont even prospect. They just see that I do what I do for a reason. You have to really LOVE what you do!!!! Thats the bottom line. Too many people get into training others for the $. That was never my intention. I got into it to help people.

I have to agree! I went throught and did an arts degree in human geography in the early 90's then around 96 decided I wanted to be a PT.If you have the passion then go for it,I'm just upgrading my cert to NSCA,one of the best in the business in my opinion! Its hard work but I believe that I will ultimately be a successful trainer

My University Degree is in psychology, but have been a trainer, dietary consultant, contest prep coach, and writer in this field for 16 years now. I DO have about 10 different certifications in various areas of training and nutrition, plus thousands of hours of self education though.
Must say, however, that my psychology degree has also made me a more effective coach and trainer for sure.
