Ok here we go, i think i have hit a plateau in my cutting/dieting. So last week i did 3 days of zero carbs then on forth day took in 140+g carbs. Then followed my normal rotation split. Looks somewhat like this. For 3 days i run a 60/10/30(p/c/f) split then for a day i run a 60/20/20 or 60/30/10 split or very close to that range. Then i go back to 60/10/30 for 3 days. Well for 2 weeks now i havent budged in weight lose. I work out on mon,tues,thurs,fri, and some sat. I also do cardio 3-5 times a week which consist of running for 30 minutes outside. My weight is now holding at 171 and i need more fat off for my abs still are not in. What do i need to do?

140 grams to "refeed" is not very high!! Can you give us the actual amounts of carbs you`re taking in in grams during a 5 day cycle..........each day please? Thanks!!

Yea, post up actual amount of carbs in grams, and also what a typical days diet looks like, and if i was you i would would do 20 mins of cardio in a.m and then again in p.m, that way your metabolism will be screaming throughout the whole day.

Steve,try this sceanario then check your weight again in two weeks.
Day-1: 100 gms. Day-2: 150 gms. Day-3: 200 gms Day-4: 100 gms Day-5: 50 gms
Then resume your cycle as you normall wouldc for one more week until you check your weight.
Another thing to look for is that you may be losing fat,but building muscle thus changing your body composition.
The scale may not register a change but your bodyfat might still be dropping.

I'm with Tim, your increments are much too small. Your body is "viewing" them as the same amount. Instead of seeing them as the following: Sat 0g Sun 0g Mon 15g Tue 146g wed 52g thurs 61g fri 85g sat 79g Your body is most likely responding to them as something more like: Sat 0 Sun 0 Mon 0 Tues 150 Wed 50 Thurs 50 Fri 50 When you compare the two, there isn't much change is there? Plus, as Tim said, your recarbing with such a small amount. Do what Tim mentioned above, and that will work better. Something you might try, is that the body likes jagged changes better than gradual (in regards to bodyfat loss, not the look/feel of your body). So, I will tend to throw the mix off substantially: Sun 100g Mon 25g Tues 125g Wed 20g Thurs Close to 0 as possible Fri 250g Sat 50g Then the next week might be something completely differently. The key here, is to make out a weekly total and alter it as much as you can. Rather than giving yourself a daily consumption allotment, make it a weekly total. Instead of 100g/day (for a total of 700/week) give yourself the 700g/week total and waver as much as you can. This way, you can do low carbs for one day, then you know it will be just a matter of time before you are able to have that chocolate cake.

Once the body thinks it`s not getting enough calories,it`ll go into starvation mode and hold onto fat bigtime just to survive.
I liken it to the obese woman who eats only a 1/2 a grapefruit and some lettuce all day to lose weight,but doesn`t lose an ounce....................survival mode!!
YB is right about making the amounts a lot more different:
10 gms. 15gms. 0 gms 30 gms 75 gms
for example,just isn`t much difference per day.

Oddly enough, no matter how "scientific" you are with your diet, exercise and every other programs- you'll still have situations like this where you just suddenly lose some weight after not changing anything up and not losing for a good amount of time. #smileydunno9gx#

I had to do the same thing...my changes were not dramatic enough and my body was viewing it as 0 carbs. I've become very sensitive to how I feel mentally when I have a certian amount of carbs.
