How much water do you try to take in, in a day, to drop water weight?
Is splenda sweetened iced tea just as good also in large amounts?

Drink as much as you can.........more water in = more water out.
Cutting sodium and foods that contain sodium will help also.
Splenda has never made me retain water........I use an artificial sweetener right vup until contest day.
Others may have other methods,but this is what works in my particular case.

great thanks Tim! I probably put away 10-12 16oz bottles of water a day easy if not more. Needless to say i go to the pisser a lot...

Here's the trick Hoops - as Tim said, drink as MUCH as possible. Aroun Thursday (if prejudging is Saturday) you'll probalby cut. Maybe even on Wed if you're drinking alot of water. It'd look similar to this: Wed - down to 1.5 gallons Thurs - 1 Gallon Fri - 64 oz Sat - nowater
If you are hard core or are really cutting you may go: Wed - 1 gallon Thurs - 64 oz Fri - 32 oz Sat - None
I however think that is extreme and scenerio 1 should be good - realize though that no water means tha tyou can still drink as needed w/ food but limit SEVERLY!

Steve, is it for a contest of for a general look day after day? Because if it's not for a contest, i would say the more you drink, the more your body will eleminate water (since your body is in over-abundance, it wont feel the need to retain any water outside the muscle cell). So i could suggest you someting like 4-5 liters a day (1 to 1,5 gallons?).
But if it's for a contest, i would slowly increase the amount every day during the month prior the contest and drink as much as 9-10 liters (2,5 gallons?) on the day before the show. On contest day i wouldn't suggest to completely cut water, but only reduce the amount to something like 2-3 liters... but you will have to find the right amount yourself by trial and error since everyone is different and will peak in different conditions! For exemple, some will be very flat on contest day if they dont drink at least 4-5 liters (it's my case)... some will be able to drink 0 water and still be full, have a pump and dont have any cramp! Anyway, the thing is that you'll have to experiment! Oooh and dont be surprise if you retain a lot of water during the 3-4 days after the contest...
