I'm trying to find a fat source where i can take along with me to school or something...without getting bad.
Besides almonds and nuts...can peanut butter be used in my protein shake?
Like i added my peanut butter to my already water mixed protein shake....and leave it in my backpack for a few hours...
would that be bad? I would think not since people bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...but i am not sure about this.

From a nutritional standpoint, no PB is fine with the aforementioned. But from a taste/mixture standpoint, it might be a little gross. Try it and find out Max.

It seems to me that the peanut butter would settle out of the mixture since it will not dissolve.

you don't like peanut butter chocolate protein shake? I love mixing PB with protein shakes! I like natty Teddy chunky brand. As for leaving the shake out, I don’t think a few hours would be a problem. I believe refrigerating the natty pb’s after opening is more for the oil not settling back on the top then anything else.

Yep! If you're worried about the shake going bad from sitting throw a few ice cubes in when you make it. I do this with my Post Workout shake all the time as I leave it in the car while I workout and I (like you) live in a very hot climate right now. The shake is nice and cold when I'm ready to drink it and if there are any ice cubes left they help with the mixing when I shake it.

All you have to do to solve this problem is to put powder in your shaker, carry the peanut butter in a small jar in your backpack......when ready, get to a water fountain, fill it up,add the PB,shake, drink, rinse shaker,go to class.
No need to let it sit and get gross if water is available as I assume it would be in school...............if not, carry bottled water with you.
I keep my PW powder in a shaker, and just add water before I leave the gym.

Almond butter also works well.

Max I make my wife a protein shake w/ skim milk, choco protein, and nat pb and she LOVES it! My wife also puts 2 Teaspoons of Nat PB in a small tupper ware dish for her pre workout meal so she can take it to work.

Max, You could always pickup a soft igloo cooler and an icepack. I like using them for my pwo shakes and there’s nothing worse then a warm shake on a hot day.
