THis is the time I get REALLY hungry, and of course I'd hate to eat carbs at this time because they are more easily converted to fat. I am on a bulking routine but I want to put on quality weight. I've found having a protein shake just doesn't cut it, it's digested quickly and I am still hungry, which can lead to less sleep Any ideas on what I can have before bed, or late night that will have protein and fill me up?

I usually go the PB protein shake route. Once in a while I might have a can of Instone pudding with a Tbsp of PB.

Loooot of choice when you are on a bulking diet Mystic:
- Egg White (Or eggs) - Chicken brest or turkey - Any sandwich meat - Tuna - Slow digesting protein shake - Yogourth - Low fat cheese (or cottage) - Big Macs (Oh no, wait, i remember you said "quality mass" ;D )

- Low fat cheese (or cottage) Cottage cheese is the way to go if you don't mind eating it that late. I love having it before bed. A nice slow releasing casein protein, that will allow your body to feed off of it for hours, and possibly all night...or at the very least you'll go starving the least amount of time possible. Are these cravings when you get up in the middle of the night? Or just before bedtime? Is the milk your drinking whole milk or non-fat? 2%? Try having a protein shake with whole milk. Even better, IMO, have a Muscle Milk shake with non-fat milk. You'll get the fat from the protein shake cause it's already there, and you'll have excess calories to fill you up from the milk. Plus, it's MILK, the best protein source on the face of the earth (yes, I believe so even over eggs).

Just what kind of protein were you taking for that last "before bed" shake? ? If it was Whey, you might want to try an old fashioned Milk and Egg protein to see if that will fill you up enough to sleep through the night. When I diet, I noticed that Whey "dumps out" of my gut a lot faster than Milk and Egg protein. What I do is have a Milk and Egg shake first thing in the morning to be able to last until lunch without getting hungry, and the last shake of the day is Milk and Egg too, to make it through the night. I use Whey shakes between meals because in about an hour I've digested them, so they don't interfere with my whole meals. Sicario.
