Hello all:
It has been suggested to me that I order from trueprotien.com. I got on there and it looks like good stuff BUT... I'm TOTALLY confused as to what type or types I should order. You can custom order how much you want of what in your protien that you do order.
Can you guys help?
Also- I'm ordering some creatine... they have monohydrate and ethyl ester... what should I use???

monohydrate is the proven creatine in scientific studies so go with that one!
As for the protein,I guess if you have no issues with lactose then a whey concentrate will be fine. Me personally I go for an isolate and I read somewhere the cold filtration method does not degrade the protein as much as others. I would also suggest you add in some glutamine peptides to the mix.

Whey protein isolate, ion-exchange. Ethyl ester works for me and you use less of it but it tastes pretty bad (and I can choke down almost anything). If you're real uncertain email or call them; they're very helpful and know their stuff. I know they'd be glad to help.

With the monohydrate you will/can get bloating/water retention and you have to load with it. The ethyl ester has no loading phase and little to no water retention. I personaly think the CEE works better than the monohydrate. However that is just from my experience with both of them. As for the protein go with the ion exchang isolates and cold filtration isolates. Throw in some BCAA's with Glute Peptides and you got a good solid protein for pre/post w/o.

What are you going for? Size/strength/recovery or taste? Personally, I like using a casein bases protein for the results, and add in some BCAA's in the mix and you have a very potent protein. But damn does it taste like doggcrap!!! Use a milk and egg mixture, add some potassium casienate in there as well, and have some whey to round off the percentages, and you'll have what I call a great powder (as far as potency, not taste!). I'd suggest using the whole egg powder, instead of the egg white (even if dieting). Other than that, you can PM me, or ask more here.

I agree with Youngblood about making the casein based protein your "staple" for a protein supplement. Casein takes much longer to "clear" than whey protein, thus giving you a "trickle" effect and keeping you "anabolic" much longer. Whey protein dumps in and out too fast IMO to make it the "main" protein in my diet. If you can afford both, you could use the whey right after working out, as you want those amminos to get into your system as fast a possible to start rebuilding what you hopefully "tore down" in the gym. Or you can do what I do and add in some yogurt to your whey to slow down the absorption

I use 90% cold filtration whey isolate/10% high grade whey hydrosalate with dextrose pre and post workout.
I also use cell swell matrix which has cee in it as well as glutamine and bcaa's. I have always gotten good results from regular creatine monohydrate. I just started using the csm for this contest and it has the cee in it already so I don't need to double up with the monohydrate.
I've been experimenting with protein blends to use as meal replacements and I agree with YB and Sicario, you should use a milk protein based powder. The last one I custom blended was 40% milk protein isolate,40% casin and 20% whey isolate, although whey concentrate would probably work well also. I also used the custom flavoring system that they offer because I wanted it to taste pretty good and it was!

Oh, and when ordering a casein based protein, it's HIGHLY ADVISED to NOT get a "fruity" flavor....watermelon, lemonade, or cherry etc.... get something "dark" like Chocolate, to cover up any foul taste, it will help. That is, unless you like the great taste of wet cardboard sitting in your mouth for hours upon hours.
