It fills me up, it goes well with so many foods and it tastes AWESOME. Meat lazagna, beef enchiladas, cheeseburgers, spagetthi and meat sauce I usually have 1-2 servings of red meat per DAY. I cannot stand fish, and I usually eat eggs for protein in the morning. Chicken is alright, it too, goes with alot of foods but just doesn't have that great taste and satisfaction of eating red meat.
I'm aware it raises blood pressure, can be fatty, etc., but I just can't stop eating it. Any ideas? I thought about substituting turkey for everything instead of meat. I'm not a big turkey fan though.

If you can get your hands on it, deer and elk meat is very, very lean. It probably costs a lot more, but it's a lot less fatty, plus since it's wild game, you know that it isn't loaded with all sorts of "chemicals." I come from a long line of hunters, so there are always elk steaks and deer hamberger meat on hand. Not to mention wild duck and turkey. If it's too hard to find, or way out of your price range at the super market, just try buying the leanest cuts of steak or ground beef that you can find. Vin.

Red meat, in moderation, and the right cuts of red meat are fine. One thing to look for in red meat is something called "marbeling," the more marbeling the more fat....but the catch is it is usually more tender. I cannot stand ground turkey...it is all mental...it looks gross when it is browned so I use 90% lean ground beef or even ground sirloin is great too!!!!

I eat red meat twice a day everyday. Once per day pre contest. I LOVE IT and I feel it works with my body very well. Nothing wrong with it. Try to utilize the 93, 95, or 96% lean varieties though. You'll stay leaner and keep yourself healthier. Besides that, BEEF is where it's at!

I'm happy to see I'm only the only CARNIVORE hehe. I absolutely love beef/hamburger. It's definately my favorite meat and is great for bulking/strength gains.
Sic, that's a great idea., I LOVE deer jerky and deer sausage with cheese. But as you said, it's very expensive, and I'll eat something like that on occasion. I will shop around though and see if I can find some good deals. It's lean, tastes great and has TONS of protein.
Karrie, I didn't know about that "Marbling" you were talking about. What I do, do, however is find lean cuts of meat and always trim or eat around the fat. I try to stay away from packaged food, and eat more home cooked stuff, but it's not always easy.

Unless you have a medical reason, I see no problem eating red meat. I'll eat red meat all day every day (figuratively speaking, I haven't but can!). Pretty much not a problem here. But I like chicken, and all the others as well. To me, heaven can be just as good in a pork chop as it is in a New York. Though, there is nothing on earth that will come between YB and his favorite New York Steak!!!

YoungBlood have you ever eaten at Peter Lugers or Mark Josephs? Porterhouse steak for 2, best of both worlds!! You have the filet on the left and the strip on the right!

That looks pretty happening!!! But, seeing as it's on the wrong coast from me, I'll have to plan a trip there and make that my first stop. On the lunch menu, the chopped steak tidbits sound like something I could eat for hours.... #drool3xm# #drool3xm# #drool3xm#
