When one is taking a high potency multivitamin/mineral forumla capsule.....say like that of Kirkland twice a day do we really need to take things like B-complex, vitamin c, vitamin e, zinc etc seperately? How many people here believe in taking glutamine in the offseason. There was a big writeup from AST in the past which was totally rubbish where they claimed how much taking the large amouns of glutamine was prodcutive for growth?? Personally I stopped taking glutamine about 4 weeks back and didn't notice any difference with my recovery abilities which seem to be good as well as in general??

Personally I've never noticed any difference when I've used glutamine. I know there's been a wealth of research out there to support it's effectiveness but most supplements don't seem to make a lot of difference for me.
As far as taking in extra vitamins, your guess is as good as mine! I take them for insurance purposes, but I could'nt swear that they help.
Currently I do use extra vitimin C, E, calcium with minerals as well as fish oil and glucosimine & chondroitin.

I use Animal Packs for vitamins. I use them as a safety net.
Dont know about glutamine... I use it once in a while.

I just take the multi-no extras on the side! As for glutamine,I find it helps my DOMS pre contest but otherwise I don't use it in the off season. Layne reckons its only good for people with bowel problems-so maybe thats why it works for me

Same thing here: I take a multi-vits as an insurance... and do not use Glutamine excepted 6 weeks out in my contest prep! I've never seen any benefit taking it... but i guess that I also take it as a low cost insurance (approx 20$ for those 6 weeks) while my calories are at their lowest!
