Unfortunately, I don't. Always thought a dog would be nice. But I'm in a small apartment and am not home much. So it would not be fair to the dog.

A few years ago I wouldna dreamed I'd say this - got 2 little dogs, Shih-Tzus.
All my life I had always had German Sheppards & Black labs. Then, my wife (2nd ) says she wants a dog - a "little one". I cringed. I said - if you MUST have a little dog, I absolutely DO NOT want one that is nervous and yappy. We started asking around... "We want a LITTLE, CALM dog", and the Shih-Tzu kept coming up on the list.
I couldn't be happier with these 2. I never though I'd like a little dog. They are quite calm and only bark when you'd really want them to, and the don't destroy our furniture n' stuff. In pictures you usually see them with froofy bows in their hair, but we keep their hair short - no brushing, no bows. They both housetrained in no time - very smart.

Damn Jim,sounds like a regular menagerie!! I got into fishkeeping at one point when I first got sober and I was completely obsessed with it. I had about 7 tanks going at once, and bought a 100 gallon tank, then got into saltw*ter fish. I thought nothing of spending $80.00 or more on a fish, only to find it belly up in the morning, until I learned more about them anyway.

ELEVEN KIDS!!!!! Ray,Actually after getting the tank set up initially the maintainance isn`t really too dificult at all. I thought it would be at first but my fish thrived and the tank was crystal clear at all times. I could go into the specifics of the easy maintainance but I wouldn`t want to bore everyone more than I probably have already. ;D

I only have a 20 gal. fresh tank and an old chocolate lab. When I can collect $2k and can justify spending it I will get a decent sized salt tank and good filtration. Tim, I am still obsessed ;D Had a great tank going before moving to TX and a great relationship with the owner of a fish store... Id clean the tanks and learn about salt fish and I could have all the coral and fish I wanted to fit 50g... good trade. The best fish I had was a Niger Trigger, hearty, hungry (loved goldfish) and fun to watch couldnt have anything else in the tank though...

Jaxon, I had a Niger Trigger,Spotted Grouper,Lionfish,Yellow Tangs,Mandarin Goby,Navarchus Angels ,etc. etc. etc. I honestly think I`ve had just about any type of fish at one time or another. At one point I had the 100 ,55,two 29`s.and 3 10 gallon tanks going. If I had the room at the time I would have gotten a whole bunch more. I later had a job at a pet store that also sold soda(I know, weird combination, but the guy literally made millions in 3 small stores)thinking I knew a lot about fish so I`d have it made. Ironically enough I was made Manager of the pet food/soda part of the store and never saw the damn fish. My favorite fish are Cichlids and brackish water fish like mono`s and Datnoids. Great hobby!!

ciao TIM,
you're one of the few few few people that is really successful at surprising me everytime.
Every time I read a new interesting thing, this time the fishkeeping!!!
I really do not know that much about it, but I wanted to buy a tank, but since I live in a small apartament I do not have the space.
If I win a lot of money an I can travel to USA maybe I'll come to NY for a barbeque (I'll bring the steaks ;D)
ciao Tim

LOL, I am a fish guy also.
My parents own a pet store and I grew up in it. I managed it for about 10 years until I moved up to Portland. Hopefully within the next 2 years I will have my own pet store.
It is quite a unique pet store, the one my parents have. It is a house (Victorian, older and cool looking) that was completely turned into a pet store. Aptly named, Animal House Exotic Pets. This is what I plan on doing, buying a house and converting it to a pet store.
I went through my phases, reptiles, fish, birds. I have to say my fav was the African Cichlids, mainly Victorian because of the vivid colors.
Us muscle-heads have a soft side to us after all huh?

I like the house/pet store idea, may have to steal it... ;D I put together a cichlid tank for a friend of mine and i liked the "middle ground" of the tank construction. dont remember the lighting i used but with the placement of the tank and the light i was very impressed with cichlids. he had a house full of windows and skylights green algae hell but looked great ;D
