Leaving for Pittsburgh later this morning. Not sure if there is computer access where I'm staying. If so, I'll post a prejudge and finals report. If not, when I return.
Lance is doing great and will be seeing him tomorrow. He knows he will have tough competition in his class (40 LHW) and hopefully in overall. But his best condition makes him the one to beat.
Also working with Mike Patton, who has a great shot in supers. May the best athletes win.
Take care, guys.

Gerry:
Look forward to reading your prejudging/finals report.
Is this the Mike Patton who did the USAs (and maybe the junior nationals?) in the mid 90s? If so I'm sure he will be very competitive in the Masters shw.
Am I correct in thinking that the Masters Overall gets a pro card?

Finally made it back. One of the most competitive masters shows that Gary Udit has promoted. 255 competitors total in all divisions.
Tim, thanks for posting results. LW 4th was James Hemminger. He's a pal of a pal and a veteran. He also won lw class in over 50. And 3rd in mw was Anthony Moore. Dave Marinelli stood out in over 50, winning lhw class and overall. Not quite as tight as he was in previous years, but still the best. And he gets huge props for battling a stomach virus earlier in the month and still making the show.
Rusty had momentum from the USA and looked very good and posed very well. He won the overall in a close decision over Lance. Think Lance had it based on individual poses, but Rusty does have a pleasing overall look. Was not a popular crowd decision, and many were walking out before Rusty got his trophy. But proud of Lance, not just for being in his best ever shape but for putting aside his disappointment and congratulating Rusty. That's why I really consider him a champion.
That is the same Mike Patton. Proud of him for competing well and improving over last year. Just a tough class. Gary commented that overall super class was better than at USA. Bob Hockensmith was hard and tight and gave Rusty a run for it. Gus M cramped up after his routine and could not come out for his trophy. He actually dehydrated and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Looks like he will be OK. Lesson, cut down water, not cut out.
Dan and Cynthia both competed well. Thought Dan might get a top 5 but wasn't called out. And Carla looked tremendous, most deserving of her win. The female masters were extremely competitive. And there some very good masters figure competitors as well. Nancy Alviani from PA was 2nd in over 50 figure at age 62! Looked 42 when I first saw her.

Great to have you back Gerry, and thanks for the report on the show!! I wish I could have been there but I guess next year will come around soon enough. I`m real proud of my man Dan.He took some years off as I did and in the last few years has really built a good physique and since starting back competing has done really well thus far!! He`ll be back next year. I`ve known him since grammar school and were still best friends. Also props to Cindy and Carla and the rest of the contestants.I love it when people from my hometown do good!

Hear you, Tim. A guy from NY, Charles Urrego won over 60 division and he was amazing. Largest biceps and best overall condition I've seen on a 60 yr old. Charles was also 2nd in over 50 heavywt class.
And Chuck Grandstaff who was 3rd was also terrific. Had him figured for 2nd.
Among pros there were George Farah, Mike Dragna and Kris Dim.
