Attended Friday evening prejudge, which consisted of IFBB NYC Pro Figure one and two piece suit rounds and also Team Universe men's bodybuilding.
There were 28 pro figure competitors who were judged on their turns in one piece suits and at the end of the show in two piece suits. No brainer that Devana Medina will win. She is the reigning Figure Olympia champion, and got the first callout. New pro Tara Scotti looked stunning and hope that Kimberly Becker made top 10. She also looked tremendous. As did Debbie Kruck. This is why I could never judge figure! ;D
The men's event had six classes. No supers class, but there was a welterwight class which is up to 165 lb. There were 69 competitors total in the six classes, so turnout was good and there were some impressive athletes. Most notably Jose Raymond and Tricky Jackson in welters, Tito Raymond in middles, and also Tim Martin and Kraig Feldman in light heavies. Looks like they will all wind up top 5 in their respective classes.
Notables in attendance were George Farah, King (as in king size) Kamali, Jimmy Canyon, Dave Palumbo and Bryce Lewis (masters 40+ middlewt winner). And Gary Udit was among the judges. Will not be at morning prejudge which features the women's bodybuilding and NPC Figure Nationals competitors. Will be at evening show tonight starting at 7PM.

No problem Tim. Jose looked very impressive and overall would not be impossible.
Tito also loked solid, and there was a hw who looked extremely good. Don't know his name, all callouts were by number.
So tonight should be interesting.

Was a very good show, and it took less than four hours! Amazing!
Davana did win the Pro Figure. Did not write down names of 2nd and 3rd place (all that was announced). But they are now qualified for Figure Olympia.
Figure Nationals overall winner was Mary Elizabeth Mayo and she was certainly statuesque ad stunning. Other notable class winners were Marcy Porter and Kate Shelby. Actually, top 2 in each of the six height classes earned pro status.
Women's bodybuilding was very competitive, with Vicki Nixon winning lw, Debbie Patton winning mw and Colette Nelson winning hw. Vicki won overall and pro status. She was very balanced and muscular. At first it seemed like a shock to Vicki, and said afterwards she still could not believe it.
Men were very strong. Among solid winners were Owen McCurdy in lw and Jose Raymond in welters. Thought Tito Raymond might be joining his brother in overall lineup, but he was 2nd to Tricky Jackson in a close mw battle. Both are veteran competitors who know how to pose and were in great shape. Tough call, but Tricky looked a tad harder and had great symmetry..
Kai Greene won hw and overall. Very thick, muscular and balanced. Overall win gives Kai pro status.
Claude Groulx, George Farah, Jimmy Canyon and Jason Arntz were among the pros in attendance. George autographed photos no charge and was very nice.

Show was very good, as photos show. This is the 2nd show I've seen this year where a "favorite most muscular" was requested in prejudge. Wonder if that is or will be an 8th mandatory?
Jose was a no brainer in his class, and I agreed with Tricky winning his class. The overall judging was very good, and think that the athletes who most deserved to win did win.
