I don't know how to start this without sounding melodramtic, but I was involved in a bad car accident last Thursday, August 5th.
It started out as a great day. I was getting in the groove of lifting, etc. etc. To make a long story short, I was making a left turn at a busy intersection and was hit by a Jepp Cherokee. The accident was a blur. My pickup truck was turned 180 degrees. I stammered out of the vehicle and went and sat on the grass. An ambulance came and I went to the hospital. Luckily I had only had a cut near my eye which they put liquid stitches on. X-rays were taken and lucklily nothing was broken, but my lower right side was sore as hell. The side is much better now, although if I get up wrong or cough hard the side can have a twinge of pain, but it is getting better every day.
Pictures of the accident made the local paper and when I see my truck(actually what's left) I say to myself that I was damn lucky to get out of it with the minimum of injuries I did. I scanned the picture from the paper and tried to post the picture of the truck, but uploading to my local ISP is a pain. I tried all weekend and I got frustrated and gave up.
I would like to post the picture, not as some sort of trophy of surviving, but as a reminder how fleeting life can be and that every day should be lived to its fullest.
Life is getting back to normal, but I think I will take the rest of the week off and maybe try some stretching exercises to see how the lower right side responds.
I hope that I didn't offend anybody with my preaching, but things like accidents can change someones life.
Take care,
John
