This is completely off topic but I need to vent.... Decided to wash my car early this morning, I baby it - wash it at least once a week, careful not to park it next to another car in parking lots because I hate getting dings in the bodywork from ***holes who don't watch when they swing their doors open, etc, etc. I have one of those telescopic attachemnts that go on the end of the hose, a long pole that extends in the middle and you can fit all the car cleaning attachemnts to it. I attach the hose to a faucet, attach the pole thingy to the other end and turn the faucet on. The attachment has a flow control on it and I had it turned off. I walk back to the car and turn on the water flow on the pole. When I did this the pressure buildup was enoguh to snap the telescoping lock, break the max height stop on the pole and send a 3 foot section of aluminum pole flying into one of the rear doors very, very fast (it actually sounded like a gun shot when it hit the car). The area where it hit the door was pused in about three inches for a 12 inch diameter. It was also scraped up and went through to the metal work. I AM NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW!

Chris, has a lady named Carrie moved into your neighborhood? And did you somehow make her mad? Seriously though, what happened sucks. I know what you mean about parking the car not by any car in the parking lot. I do the same thing and use the excuse, the walking will do me good as I park a 1/2 mile away, when there is a parking space right up front. Take care and thank God nobody was hurt.

I spent the day fixing the dent. I've managed to pull it out, sanded and filled in the dent, so now I'm left with the paintwork. I went to buy the paint today and it cost 60 bucks for an 8oz can of the stuff. Still its cheaper than taking it to a bodyshop... John: You've make a good point; I hadn't considered what would happen if the pole had hit a person instead of the car. I'm guessing it wouldn't be pretty. Max: It's going to take more than a pancake to cheer me up But I appreciate the sentiment

Chris, glad that things are working out.
Hope that Carrie reference didn't go over your head. Anytime I read about a story of a garden or fire hose going wild, I refer back to that movie.
That movie is probably the best adaptation of any Stephen King novel.

John: I checked the local newspaper today and I couldn't find any reports of pig-blood-drenched-white-dress-wearing women, so I figure I'm ok My favorite is adaptation is "Stand By Me"

Yow, that sucks.
Good job tackling the body work yourself.
