Apples For Your Heart
A report in the Winter 2000/2001 issue of the Journal of Medicinal Food found that drinking 12 ounces of apple juice or eating two apples a day for six weeks delayed the tendency of LDL cholesterol to oxidize outside the body. So, who cares? One current theory (but not proven) is that the bad cholesterol in your blood reacts the way a nail rusts and causes deposits in your arteries.
One of the participants in the study was quoted in the press release as saying that "if just drinking 12 ounces of apple juice a day could give that benefit, it's definitely worth making part of my daily routine." If you plan to add this much juice to your daily diet, plan to drop 175 calories from something else or you'll add a pound of fat every 20 days.

If it came to drinking the juice or eating the apples, i'd rather eat the apples myself and just drink other liquids in the form of water, milk and tea. Can't do without my tea, lol!

You Scottish folk with your tea! I don`t drink much juice either, and feel that whole fruit is much better for you, and supplies the fiber that is missing from the juice.For general health,it`s better than soda though that`s for sure!Water is tops on my list ,followed by the American version of tea time....COFFEE,can`t do without it! ;D

Though they're far from being a wonder drug, apples have plenty of benefits. In 1989, researchers in Japan found that people who ate three or more apples a day were less likely to develop high blood pressure as they got older.
Apples contain boron, a trace mineral that increases calcium absorption, which also may aid in preventing osteoporosis. They also contain fiber, which can help lower cholesterol.
