Many have wondered what this years Olympia Weekend prize money is? Here is the official prize money amounts, which was never 'subject to change' as reported by some sites, and will not change coming into the 2004 Olympia.

In the differences from last year to this year, in the Mr. Olympia, first place receives $10,000 extra. Also, everyone will receive some money, those that place 11th or below will receive $1,000. For the women, the Figure, Fitness and Ms. Olympia will received the same prize money as last year.

Also, at the Shawn Ray All Star Seminar V, on Sunday at Gold's Gym, the Best Presentation Award (for the best presentator at the 2004 Mr. Olympia) will be given out, courtesy of a number of sponsors.

This year, there will be no car on stage or given out as has been in the last 2 years.

No car, the money has gone down in some contests, the drug usage has increased (and therefore less total money taken home due to spending costs), and guys are starting to get health problems for various reasons.
Is it any wonder why BBers aren't plastered next to Michael Jordan posters on kids' walls?
I'm just as excited as the next guy for this Olympia (Ronnie being 304 two weeks out is quite outrageous!!!), but this political crap has got to stop. Maybe that's what Wescott was talking about when he said "big things" were going to happen for the board?
And I thought things were going to be BETTER without Demilia........

One postive thing is that, at least, the prize is much better spread and the comptitors who place 10- 20 get something.

All I can say is somebody is making a ton of money from this competition and it isn't the bodybuilders.

The thing is that at least the lesser competitors are getting some coin but it`s still a mere pittance.

Yes, it's good to see lesser placing BBers getting some gold. But like MikeLifts mentioned, someone is making money (and whoever/wherever that money has been going all these years), it's not the BBers, and never has been. I figured it was DeMilia. Now he's gone and they still get the shaft.
I'm glad Lee Priest decided against the contract, however, we need more guys like Lee to stand up and take control of their paycheck. Unfortunately, they can't do that since their cycles and rents depend on the pitiful check(s) that they do happen to earn.

its kin od sad that the bellhops in the Mandalay will probably make more in tips and salary that weekend then the lower placers that weekend.
