Back Day, and as much as I wanted to do Rack Deads, I had to pass on them due to my back. Why push it? Anyhoo, on with the workout. One Arm Inc. DB Rows: 85x8x3 Weight was light, but I was also getting a wicked feel to the muscle, so I didn't want to mess with a good thing. Pull-Ups: BWx6x3 All done from a dead hang. First two sets I used a mixed grip, and the last set was a chin-up with both hands facing myself. Std. Med. Grip Rows: 120x8 180x8 Wasn't sure if this would aggravate my back, but it didn't hence the reason for the big jump in weight. Shoulders are up next. The first two exercises, I stole from Charles Glass in this link: bodybuilding.com/fun/glasscut1.htm If you have any questions, visit the link and you will see what I'm talking about. Pronated Std. Laterals: 15x6x3 These add a really different feel/angle to the exercise. Keep your wrists pointed behind you, and you'll be good to go. I'll know more tomorrow, but it also felt like the rear delt was heavily involved too. Smith Power Press: 185x8 205x6 205x4 These, you set the safety catches at mouth level. Then, push to the top and return slowly. Repeat, and you do let the weight rest after each rep (at least I was). On the last set, I probably could have gotten more, but the release fell down on one side, so not being sure if I broke the machine or not, I paused mid-rep and Danny had to run over and "rescue" the latch....while I held the weight. I surely lost a rep or two due to that. Oh well. Superset... YB Rope Pulls: 50x12x2 Bodymaster Squat Press: 135xAMAPx2 Good superset! The latter, you take a Bodymaster squat machine, and use it as a shoulder press. Turns out a lot like the worlds strongest mans Log Lift. Pretty good pump, and thrashes your shoulders! Finished off with 15min of treadmill, going backwards every other minute, as well as sideways being thrown in there too. The next ten minutes, we did the stairclimber but nothing unusual except the interval training was changed up to a "seat of the pants" approach. #bbeersmiley9gy#

Just another day on the block for me today, with a good workout added to the menu. Today was Arms and Abs, throwing in different things when I see a need, or just to change it up. Danny always chastises me and says that I do different things all the time. Well, for two weeks, the only thing that changes is rest and reps. Sets and exercises are the same. Then the next week, it's usually what I did the previous two weeks, with more added on for the "shock" of it all, and to complete an official "Giant Set." Anyway, on with the workout!!! Compound Set.... CGBP: 225x6, 275x3x3, 275x2 St. Alt. DB Curls: 55x6x5 I was really happy with the CGBP's today. I think it's more than I've ever done in terms of reps. Though, the last set, from the first rep I felt my pec really oddly. The second rep was less of the feeling but I was straining and I didn't see a need to tear a pec for an ego rep....or set. Compound Set.... Incline Skull Crushers: 90x6, 110x6x4 One Arm Preacher Curls: 40x6x5 The first exercise, I commented to the fellas about my joints feeling/sounding like a bowl of rice krispies- Snap, Crackle and Pop. :-\ This is also one of the reasons I "bulked up" last year, since I figured more fat around the joints would help. To some extent it did, but it also didn't because some of the pain is the exercises I was/am doing which I'm now finding out since the v-handle issue arose a few weeks back. Compound Set.... Smith Power CGBP: 205x8, 225x8x2 Incline Hammer Curls: 40x8x3 The former, was done out of the starting position. In response to a sticking point on my CGBP's, where I was golden after I got through that ROM, but I get stuck about an inch off my chest. So I did these as an answer. Wait three seconds at the bottom of each rep, and explode/accelerate though the movement and lower slowly. Then repeat, including a 3 second pause with zero tension on the muscle. Wtd. Crunches: 70x12x2, 90x12 " " to the side: 90x12 per side (one set per side) Rev. Crunches on Incline Board: BWx12x3 Holy sh*t!!! I was getting an insane feeling in my abs after each set. I would stand up, and I'd almost double over- whether it was pain, another involuntary contraction pulling me that way, or just being a candy-ass I have no idea. But these hurt!!!! And of course, I loved that feeling! Finished with 15min on the treadmill, and then another 10min on the elliptical. Both were varied quite a bit, and I was sweating good and "hard." Today, KFC was closed due to a plumbing problem!!! So, I went to the store, and bought a turkey breast a diet coke, and a few Reese's Big Cups. Pretty much what I get at KFC expect sub the PB Cups for ice cream from my freezer. This was the last hurray in my day and a half calorie boost. Last night being Fuddruckers, and today being the PB Cups. Off to clean up and hit the sack for work tomorrow.

Up today was Leg Day. Danny met me there, and was actually kind of looking forward to the workout. I do have to hand it to him- this workout made it three leg days for him compared to Johnny who was only able to last through two. However, one of Johnny's was a Shock day. I'm sitting here, and I feel like utter sh*t. Not sure if it's something that I ate, the leg workout, the caffeine before the workout or if I'm just that spent and hit the (to quote Hoopie) Pre-contest "feel like sh*t wall." Whatever it is, I hope it passes soon. Lunges: 135x6x3 Reallly long stretch, and used one leg before switching to the other. Just shaping and trying to not tweak my back. Leg size is already there, so I'm not bothering with more size or attempting that (though I think everyone can at this point of "dieting"). Sarcev Hack Squats: ) 535 Tempo 225x6x3, 185x6x3, 135x6x3, 75x6x3 Do as many reps as you can with your weight on a 535 tempo, then strip off a plate and repeat till you can't squeeze out another rep. I was to the point where the entire gym looked white, I couldn't focus on anything, and though I knew I was in the gym- I wasn't sure where I was a couple times. Lost my rep count a few times too, but Danny sort of reminded me. Smith Rev. Lunges: 95x6x2 Again, just shaping, not a massive amount of weight piled on the bar. Hamstrings, though I was trying to help Danny learn SLDL's so I couldn't get in my first three sets for calves. Oh well. Smith SLDL's: 135x6x3 Just squeezing through the motion, not trying to ego-lift, and wanted to have feeling- and by that I mean NOT tweaking my back. Std. Leg Curls: 170x8x3 Love this machine, my hams always feel like Basketballs when I get up from the set. These were interspersed with.... Standing Calf Raises: 90x8x3 The leverage on this machine is ancient. 90 feels like 500#'s. Quality not quantity. Keiser Leg Curls: 100x8x2 Good set, but by this point I felt like I was about to vomit. The laying down on my stomach, restriced breathing and downward angle did not help matters either. Interspersed with... Donkey Calf Raises: 500x8x2 Finished things off with an interval walk on the treadmill for 25min. Nothing fancy, just one foot in front of the other.... I'm beat..... #bsleepingsmiley4vu#

Tim, I've done as high as 225, and even 245 before for 4-6 reps. But, considering my back, I didn't want to do anything stupid like that. :-\ Up today, was Chest, I was feeling it though I didn't quite get the 'bells I wanted. The reps, yes, but not with the 'bells I was hoping to get. Blame it on the diet! Flat DB Press: 110x8x2 110x6 I was seriously panting and sweating from these. It was like I had just done a set of squats or something. Hey, at least I know that I did my job! Smith Incline Press: 185x10x3 Just a good tight feeling of hitting every rep smooth and controlled with perfection. HS WG-BP: 275x10x2 I can't seem to find a better finisher than this one. Get the machine set up perfectly for that lower chest, and squeeze your bewbies together like you're doing a most muscular pose....insane pump/feeling of cramping in your chest. ;D Smith BB Shrugs: 225x10x3 Just to keep my traps tight and peaking..... Rev. Crunches: bwx12x6 Wtd. Crunches: 70x12x3 Used the elliptical today for 10min, then finished off with the treadmill for another 15min. I wanted to do 30min total, and it just completely slipped my mind. I still have two weeks to go doing it- I'm in no real hurry. Also, today was the first day that I took any type of stimulant (other than coffee). I found me some ephedra and popped me a tab of that. Not really the effect that I remember, since it's been a year and a half since I've taken anything of that sort. I didn't take any caffeine with it however, so that could have been it too. I like to take one thing at a time to assess the effect that it may/may not have on my brain and/or body.

Back Day once again. This time minus Johnny. Don't know why, but for whatever reason he decided to not go, so it was just Danny and I. Oddly, I prefer it that way. Danny can really push himself when he's with me, but if Johnny is there, he's a little intimidated. Incline One Arm DB Rows: 75x10x3 I noticed-for the first time in my existence- that my right side is weaker than the left. It evens out a bit when I do the right side first, but it's still a tad weaker. It's my dominant side too. Pull-Ups: BWx8x3 First two sets are mixed grip, and the last set was very wide with a pull-up grip. My back is engorged with blood by now, and I feel my lats like they're Lee Haney's. Well, maybe Arnold's back..... Std. Med. Grip Rows: 180x10 150x10 Lowered the weight, because I felt my lower back and hamstrings were doing more work than should be done....it's a back exercise after all...... Shoulders, and last weeks routine had my shoulders the sorest they've EVER been, and for 5 days afterwards too. Thanks to Charles Glass! ;D Std. Laterals: 15x10x3 Again, done with a fully pronated grip, it gives a very odd feel to the exercise. Odd on the wrists and felt quite a bit in the rear delt, but the next day is where it's worth it! Smith Power Press: 155x10x2 155x8 Wow, these kick ass!!!! I gave Danny a bloody lip during these (no joke). He was taking too long between sets prior to his set, and making me rest too long. So, at one point after chastising him endlessly, he still didn't do his set. I counted a few times to motivate him, still nothing. So I figured I'll hit him and get him going. I slapped (and a bit*h slap at that!) him across the head. He laughed, so I counted to three and did so again. Again he laughed, so I said "every three seconds you don't start I'll continue to hit you." Which I did. He covered the right ear, and I hit the left. He covered the left I hit the right. He covered both so I hit him ON TOP of his head. At this point he went to duck out of the way and his lip smacked the bar. So I told him "There, now you have a reminder that every time you fu*k around, I'll be on your ass and you better do what I say." Had he just started his set, none of it would have happened. Superset...... YB Rope Pulls: 35x12x2 Bodymasters Squat Press: 40x12x2 At this point, especially the second (last) set, my shoulders were on fire. Filled with blood, feeling like they were going to pop! Haven't really had that good of a feeling in my delts in a long long time. Finished with some cardio, 15min of Farmers Walks, which Danny and Johnny both HATE worse than a cat disliking water. Was it easy? No, but it wasn't too tough either, for me, Danny may say otherwise! ;D And finally we finished with another 15min on the treadmill. I set it to random, 3.4 on the speed, and incline at 5, and away I went.
