"Low" Carb day in the cycle
6a 9 eggwhites; 40g scottish oats 9a 6oz Buffalo, 2T Salsa 1c kidney beans Noon 6oz Buffalo, 1c kidney beans, 2T Salsa, 1c Kidney beans 3p 6oz chicken 7p 6oz chicken, spinach salad 8p 9 eggwhites

Shoulders felt a little tight going in tonight so I took more time and worked on the rotation, etc and warmed up lighter and more gradually. Good idea.... it's a must for every workout in my opinion! Diet also looks great Chris! No, not great, FABULOUS! :-)

On days when you do not lift or do cardio... when do you time carbs? As you see today, I spread them over the first half of the day. Normally I'd lift in the evenings, so I do some oats for breakfast but otherwise keep the carbs pre and post workout.

Post-workout (even if late during the evening) and 1st meal in the morning are the two meals where I always have carbs! At those moments, your body is in a catabolic state so not having carbs (even just a few) is in my opinion unproductive, even when the objective is losing fat. So am i doing on Off days? It depends of what is the diet when you ask... Here are examples: When my carbs average is at 200/day 40% of my carbs during the first meal (ex: 80g), 35% at lunch time (ex: 70g) 25% for dinner (ex: 50g) When my carbs average is at 150/day 45% of my carbs during the first meal (ex: 65g), 30% at lunch time (ex: 45g) 25% for dinner (ex: 40g) When my carbs average is at 100/day 50% of my carbs during the first meal (ex: 50g), 30% at lunch time (ex: 30g) 20% for dinner (ex: 20g) So the less carbs I have in my diet, the more is the proportion during the 1st meal, but it's always around 40-50%. Thanks! Yes- helpful. On other matters- I promised Eric aka BodyFX I'd log my use of the new Meltdown. Day 1. Took 1 capsule 3x. 6a about 20 minutes before eating, 1130a about 30 minutes before lunch and 6p about 30 minutes before dinner. Can't say i felt or ntoiced anything out of the ordinary good or bad. And on a really unrelated note... it's 13 below zero at the moment and the wind chill is -46. FECK!

Thanks Eric! Slow but sure (most days anyway). Frank- I'm really liking PRSS. I've done HST in the past and seem to respond well to periodization/switching up. The diet I figured out on my own based on what's worked and not... a few years ago I had bought a month of training from somebody and that tought me a few things... I've done the "anabolic diet" and you may remember us talking about the Cut Diet... through all that I've slowly been figuring it out. Then, thanks to all of you here (Mo!), I tweaked the carb cycling recently and am trying that out. Come to think of it- it was Ski's tips on carb cycling at MM that drew me to this site

It all sounds GREAT! I have worked with a few trainers and "gleaned" ideas from all of them, but nobody knows your body, and how it reacts, better than YOU! Some of the Guys/Ladies here have GREAT ideas, and as you know, they work! Since I've been doing the PL thing, quite honestly, my diet has gone out the window But I can deal with it, and know how to fix it when the time comes. Your entire program looks GREAT! Keep on hittin' it my friend!

Diet Today
I'm adjusting carb placement a little, keeping carbs just to breakfast and PWO.
6a 2 capsules Meltdown (doubled the dosage, have a mild case of the jitters... but I also have a very mild head cold) 620a 40g scottish oats, 9 eggwhites 9a 6oz buffalo w/salsa 1130a 2 capsules Meltdown (maybe again, just a little jittery after about 15 minutes) Seem to be hitting the abthroom more but that may be the cold. Noon 6oz chicken w/salsa 3p 6oz chicken w/salsa 5p 2 capsules Meltdown 530p Workout - Vasocharge, 40g Xtend 7p 120g scottish oats, 1 scoop WPI 8p 1/2c ea amaranth and quinoa, 1/4c kidney beans, 5oz chicken

Glad to see that Buffalo in there! GOOD Protein.
I occasionally throw in Ostrich. It's like 42 grams of protein for one small piece, but it can get a little pricey!

I tried Ostrich--- it's so lean... really needs some help with the flavor. My buffalo is raised about 15 miles from where we live and I get it at the co-op. The same place recently started seeling elk, venison and a few other high-protein/lean choices. I'm really not much of a fan of venison etc but there's is not bad. And they sell it all for about the same price as 93% lean beef. Not too bad. About your diet- ya know? As we get older... other than obvious health issues- it's mostly vanity ... I'm actually a "clothes" horse and like clothes that fit well, especially a good suit. After years of hating the way I looked and thus, hating shopping... I now love that I can where fitted clothes... Hey... whatever keeps you in the gym right? Cheers!

Good to have all that fresh meat there (not the gym!) The only venison I had was jerky that was made fresh. Not bad.

My cold has become pretty full-blown and am felling crappy. I slogged through my back workout OK... I'll log it later. Happen to have the day off tomorrow but we'll have contractors here tearing up the house and it's also my wife's birthday... hopefully back to snuff by Friday.
