Heavy single bench day
Try to find my opener for the meet
1x10x135 1x10x225 1x3x270 1x1x315 1x1x350 1x1x385 1x1x405 1x1x415-BOMBED! Got about an inch off my chest then back down, not sure why. I think mentally I lost it. As if on the way down I knew it wasn't going up. Toolpod was there to spot me. TP said it looked a lot better then the last time I tried that weight.
finished with 3x9x275
Side dumbell laterals 3x12x20
Front raises with dumbells 3x6x60
Tricep pushdowns 3x15x150
done.
I found my opener. I will be opening with 385, then go for 405 and then go conservative (depending on how I feel) with 410.
decent workout.

I love power lifting. I truely believe God made me to do this. Now I am not saying I am anything special, I'm not just saying it feels as if I belong here so to speak.
This workout was the best workout leading up to the meet so far.
Power cleans 1x6x120 3x5x170
Front squats 3x5x270
deadlifts (70% of 1rm) 3x3x437.5
RDL (romanian deadlifts) done on a 4" block. 3x5x320
bent rows 2x5x220
tonage=18000+

Thanks Hoopie Unfortunately do to school being on Saturdays I cannot make that meet. It just so happend that the meet on March 22nd is a day I do not have school, while the next meet is on May 24th is also on a day in which I do not have school.

I am begining to think I am peaking correctly for this upcoming meet! Today was a rather low intense day (on purpose) and I really had to fight the urge to go the distance!!!!! But with 2 weeks out this is exactly what I should not be doing!
Power cleans 1x6x120 3x5x170
Front squats 3x5x220
I just tried something for fun (probably not appropreate but I just wanted to see something) Rack deads starting at mid shin with the resistance bands doubled on each side of the bar. 1x8x120 (with bands I would guess 200 extra pounds of resistance at the top)
Woweeeeeeeeeeee! With the bands the bar wants to pull you forward. This really hits the lower back. After the meet I will be incorporating these into my routine!!!!
Bent rows 3x8x170
finished.
A lot left in the tank, and dispite this nasty chest cold I feel ready for the meet.

COld is clearing up,
last heavy bench day
1x12x120 1x10x220 2x3x300 3x3x335 1x1x375 (opener) 1x1x400 went up nice, a little slow on the way up but still strong and powerfull. 1x1x420-
bombed. I got it about an 1 inch off the chest and then back down. My son helped get it going. It seems my sticking point is right off my chest. Cause after it moved 2 inches it went right up with authority.
I am very confident I can set a PR at the meet in the bench. 410-415 is within reach!
Close grips 2x8x220
Incline dumbell press 2x10x120
lying Tricep dumbell extensions 2x10x50
done.

Steve, Have you considered bands or chains to help get you passed that sticking point? Frank Hey Frank I actually do train with bands. I really believe in them. They have done wonders form my acceleration. My sticking point seems to be the first 1-2" off my chest.

thanks guys this week I am only training twice. Tonight will be a speed like day for squats tomorrow will be a speed day for bench, and then Saturday is the meet!
On a good note I should be both physically and mentally stress free. My first session at school is done and all I have to worry about is the upcoming meet.
