Awesome workouts Tim. When are you starting the contest diet? What are your first shows next year? Eric,not sure yet what shows I`m gonna` do.........I usually hit the New Englands in May as I have been trying to win the Masters class for years now,then I hit Rochester in June which is kind of my local show,but instead,I may possibly do a USBF contest with my training partner as it will be her first contest.................falls on the same day as Rochester. I also do a show in NYC occasionally,but may pass...........I have no clue!! LOL Might only do the Masters Nats and the NABBA Nats and save myself some money and some wear and tear. I`m just starting to clean up my diet...............eating OK,but not too structured yet. The best part is,I`m staying pretty lean and looking OK,so I gfuess I got lucky this year. Lots of carbs,so at times only 4-5 meals in an effort to keep cals lower so I don`t get fat. Soon I`ll be eating much cleaner 6 times a day........just gotta` get in the proper mindset to do so. Sounds great, Tim!! I hear you on the possible reduction of shows...it's only the Master's Nats for me this year. If you are looking to get in even more carbs I'd be glad to send you a copy of the Golden Corral Diet!!! ;D

Lunges: 20-12 30-12 20-12 Did these with my lead foot on a raised platform.
Couldn`t even attempt these last week............good indication that my back is getting better.
Adductor Machine: 110-20 150-20
Posterior Chain: Reverse Hyperextension Machine: 15-bodyweight 25-15 55-12 100-12 125-10 140-8 45-15 150-6 is my record on these.......another indicator that my back is recovering.
Just gotta` bide my time and be cautious..........may try squatting again next week if all goes well.
Calves: Standing Calf Raise: 6 sets to failure ,followed by half reps and stretching to failure....135-315
Leg Press Calf Raise: 3 x failure,followed by half reps and stretching to failure......3 plates a side,and 4 plates a side
Fellt great and just a bit of nagging back pain...........legs are still very wobbly hours later!

Tim, Naproxen works great for inflamation and swelling. It's like Advil on roids! It allows me to train through pretty much anything that comes up.

Keith How I look at the difference between Naproxen (Alieve) and Ibuprofen (Advil) is Alieve takes longer to take effect but last l8-12 hrs where as advil takes a shorter time to work but last only 4-6 hrs. You could take both at the same time but at reduced quantities. 220MG of alieve and 200 mg. of advil should be fine.

Hoops,eating lots of protein,but too much bread and things like that.....not really much junk food though. My back is getting better,but not yet pain free......gonna` try squatting 10x10 on Monday if possible..........if not,I`ll devise some other form of leg torture. Thanks for asking bro. Monday is the day I clean up the diet bigtime. Keith,I now train with two women,one is 48 years old and the other one is a student at the University where the gym is located....she is 21 and wanted to compete in figure but I talked her out of it.. Both train harder than any of the men in the gym and are even stronger than some of the college guys in some exercises. Neither have competed but both want to do so this June........USBF contest in Plattsburgh N.Y for starters. Bonnie,my original partner is 48 and looked great when she started........trained with light weights,mostly machines and was/is a runner. Now she squats 150 for a set of 5 deep reps,5 plates a side leg press for 12-15,lying barbell rows with 100 pounds for a set of 8,curls the 35 pounders for 6 and curls 80 on a straight bar for 8.........beautiful girl with great proportions and lean and getting better by the week. To say she looks great is an understatement and both are serious trainers. Jamie 21,is a student at the college (St. Lawrence University) and is a former national level rowing champion. She trains hard and is making quick progress...........only been with us a short time and strength is unbeleivable and physique good and steadily improvinmg. No matter what diabolical routine I come up with,they do it no questions asked with all out intensity. I used to wonder how some guys I knew trained with women,but now know why........they train stricter with no ego and bust ass if they are serious which these two girls certainly are. I`ve had lots of animalistic training partners and some that wussed out and had to be dismissed, ;D but these two inspire and push me daily. Very proud of both of them, and I truly beleive that Bonnie (49 by the time the USBF contest comes around) will be receiving a natty pro-card in no time flat. Driven and dedicated are just two words that desribe her...........another one would be intense. I`m gonna` try to get some pics of us training and put them online in the near future. As usual,most of my training partners progress much faster than I do. My genetics suck..........if I gained due to the effort I put forth,I`d be huge!!! LOL
