In various events scheduled throughout the tiny dual-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, Darrem Charles will be honored this weekend as a national hero. Although he now make his home in South Florida, he has never forgotten where he came from, and every time he walks on stage he is "representing the people of Trinidad." Event promoter George Charles (no relation) has been planning the series of events for over 2 years. The people of Trinidad want to show Darrem how much they appreciate him. At Darrem's direction, all proceeds from the series of events will benefit the Trinidad & Tobago Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Darrem's generosity is without equal in our sport. Like Arnold is to Austria, Darrem is to Trinidad and Tobago. Great to know there are places where competitive bodybuilders make their country proud! Darrem was the best conditioned athlete at the Olmypia this year, and if the judging leaned more toward quality than quantity,he would have been right up there in the top 3 for sure.

I think that guy actually has MINUS % bodyfat, like King Tamali stated in the GNC thread. That might be "too small" for some, but that right there is what I call "about as close to perfection as any human can get."

He's not big enough!!!! Whatever. He still looks human, so maybe the qualification is that you need to NOT look human?!

I think if you asked a bodybuilder circa 1980 what Mr. Olympia would look like in the new century, they probably would describe a guy who looks a lot like Darrem.
He is one of the few pros that I think would not get sidelong glances and derogatory remarks from people not familiar with bodybuilding.
And he is the BEST poser in the current crop of pros (no disrespect to the nearly-as-awesome Melvin Anthony, or to Vince Taylor if he is still competing--I'm out of touch).

Darrem is probably the best conditioned pro today. Don't ever remember seeing him on stage out of shaped. Always ripped and symmetrical. And agree with Paul, the best poser out there period.
Darrem does not like traditional cardio, and has said he uses his posing as a substitute and also for extra practice. And it shows on stage in his sharp physique and polished routines.
10th in the O was ridiculous, since I think he took his conditioning a degree beyond Dexter. Glad that Darrem won the shows that he did.
Spoke with him once and was very nice. A true role model and example of what the sport should be about.
