Sorry, Tim. had trouble logging in earlier.
Competition was very good. Was only able to make the night show. No program, so it was tough getting all the competitor names with the loud crowd and not 100% acoustics.
Gunter is a big crowd favorite and his guest pose was super and well received. Says he is only around 320 right now and should be bulking to around 340!
Some very good novice men and good open competition. Watch out for Tom Hannigan, who my pal Chris trained. Was 2nd in mw and hopes to do Jrs as a lhw. Lot of potential, and will probably work with him for next year.
Masters was very good, especially over 35 hw. All of the guys were in good shape. A friend I hadn't seen in a while got 3rd and he looked great. But he was pleased that he did well in such a tough class. And the lw winner was in terrific shape. Think his name was John Carachio.
Kaylie Perry stood out in women's BB and deserved the her class and overall. There were 7 in fitness and 21 in figure including 2 fitness crossovers. Less than usual. But was very impressed with Lena Sanchez who won fitness and also tall class in figure.
Music glitches drove me to distraction and felt sorry for the athletes. They are nervous enough without waiting for music that doesn't play. Or even worse, the wrong music. That is why I usually recommend coming on stage at the start of the music.
All in all, was glad to see some good competition and congrats to the new national level athletes.

Thanks for the great report Ger!! I totally agree with you,I start my music first before walking out onstage. I`ve seen too many people just standing and waiting for their music to begin, which really sucks!

Amen, Tim. Seen that happen too often. One guy I worked with a few years ago for his first show got rattled by it. First no music, and when he came out again, wrong music! He forgot his routine, and just did some mandatories and walked off. It does suck, but after that, he came out with the start of his music!
Remembered one of the other masters competitors, Edwin Lopez. Looked full and thick. Can honestly say that masters was the most competitive group in the whole show.
