If my husband gets to come home from Afghanistan in time, we'll be having an intimate little Thanksgiving Day feast by candle light. If he's going to be delayed, then I'm heading down to Vegas to join my family (and it's a big family) for some good old fashioned food and fun Viva Las Vegas! Either way, it's going to be fun! But between you and me, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the candle light reunion

I'm glad you'll get to see your girlfriend at Thanksgiving str8flexed! I'll bet you're very excited! My husband called me last night to tell me the plans are still up in the air. If I don't get him home for turkey day, I know he'll be home for Christmas and I'll just have to be patient. It is hard though, isn't it? Being seperated from your one true love who happens to be your best friend Thanks for your prayers and well wishes GerryT. Quiet family gatherings are the best! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving day and weekend with everyone you love

Same here, Tim. Life is too short and precious and every holiday and any time spent together is important.
My wife and son are in a better place, but their memory and other loved ones help a lot. Too true about how difficult it is to be separated.
Cant, hope you see your husband Thanksgiving and Christmas!!

C - I can't imagine what you are going through right now. My heart goes out to you & your husband. I hope he returns home to you safe & for the holidays. Now wouldn't that be the best? As for my Thanksgiving, I'm eating everything. It's my favorite holiday. I love everything my grandma makes. My mouth is watering now just thinking about that turkey and dressing.

I am going home to Maryland to see my Mommy & Daddy for Thanksgiving. My family is very small & no one has left my hometown except for me, the rebel..........but know what, I wouldn't change a thing. I am so thankful for my loving family that has supported me & my choices to include the crazy sport of bb, Gladiators, bad decisions on relationships & sorry Mom, no grandkids yet, etc. Gotta stop b/c I am starting to tear up. Jade ps C, I hope your man gets to come home. Been there, I feel for you.

I wish everyone here who is travelling a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
To me thanksgiving is all about Nebraska football. Spend the Thursday with my wife and her family and then we spend the Friday at Memorial Stadium, Lincoln Nebraska watching the Huskers.

Thank you all for your warm wishes for me and my hubbie. I'm a pretty lucky girl, so I'm holding on to the hope he'll be home with me. Hey Jadethegladiator... I didn't know you were over here! Thanks for your best wishes. Not trying to get personal at all, but you mentioned you have been there done that. Were you or are you a military wife or girlfriend? It's a pretty interesting life, isn't it? GerryT... I will hold a special prayer in my heart for you and your loved ones this Thanksgiving and forever. Maximum6... a man after my own heart! I love the dark meat and the stuffing! Yes, Thanksgiving is on a Thursday. November 25th this year. Chow down my friend AI, thanks for your special Thanksgiving wish! Yes, it would be great to have my man home in time for a home cooked Thanksgiving meal. He's been away from me way too long this year Xena & Tim, I'm hoping that I'll get word any minute now that my man gets to come home. Thanks for your well wishes! And yes....cheers to ChrisC for wishing all who will be traveling a safe and happy trip.

C, Just signed up today. In regards to my "been there, done that" statement....I was in the Army for 6 years & have dealt with the long distance relationship thing a few times. Very stressful, especially the holidays & a true test of strength. When you finally see your man, it will be well worth the wait. Jade

Oh wow Jade! Thanks for telling me. I met my husband when he was a SAR pilot in the Navy. I was working on a civilian job at the time. I fueled jets for 10 years. During that time I really had a sense of what it would be like to be in the military and defend our country. Even though I was a civilian, I had the awesome opportunity to stand next to my brothers and sisters in uniform every day. I remember feeling that I was serving the military and our country in a very important way when the CAGS and squadrons would come through. I have the utmost respect and admiration for all who have served, and who are currently serving in the military. I know something really cool about you now! It's nice to meet you, and thanks a bunch for your well wishes
