“Bodybuilders Reality.com DVD of the Month #2, Lee Priest”
What? A new Lee Priest dvd, and who are bodybuilders reality? Well Lee came up with a rather novel idea. Make a dvd series that comes out once a month, just filming his life as it happens. Hmmmm. Interesting.
I had first heard of this project/dvd series through Lee’s Muscular Development column. He wrote in his column that you get subscribe to this dvd series and once a month get a dvd about 60 minutes long at the reasonable price of $20.00, each month. I checked out the site and thought to myself “I might want to wait.” Many people in the industry have tried this before and have had it fizzle on them. Well during this year’s Arnold Classic Expo, I was able to pick up the second installment of this series from the man himself (which he signed). When I got home I plugged the dvd in and watched it.
Like Lee promised, this dvd is nothing you would expect or have ever seen before. The dvd starts out with an arm workout with a substitute training partner for the now famous “Bruce” who never seems to show up. The back and forth banter between these two guys while they work out is pretty funny. Lee Priest has a somewhat dark sense of humor as he comments about the recent scandal of the Ryan, Titus murder. The workout is somewhat intense with the use of some pretty heavy weights, but I caution the viewer that this is not to be purchased just to see Lee training. If you do that you’ll miss the point. Lee is impressive, with his huge forearms, and biceps and triceps; however the interaction with the other people on the film as well as the camera man is pure enjoyment.
We see Lee at dinner with Adella and some friends celebrating her birthday, and we see Lee showing off his Mustang and some music he likes to listen too. What makes this dvd so enjoyable is the “fly on the wall” look into the life of a top pro. I liked it so much I may just subscribe. I cannot wait to see the progression of these dvd’s as Lee gets closer to the Arnold.
Good job Lee, you have made me go from a fan to a super fan. I cannot wait to see and hear whats next. Truly a trend setter.
