GMV
Arnold Classic Pump Room
GMV is an Australian based video/film production company which has been in business, filming contest and athletes since 1966. One of their many features is selling videos of the athletes pumping up before a contest. Now some viewers are totally uninterested by what goes on back stage. Others on the other hand love to see muscle. For those of you who have always been interested in seeing the backstage action these types of videos are for you.
The problem with these videos is that the content is totally unscripted. This can be bad or good. Bad in that sometimes it lacks action. After all, how many times can we watch and athlete get tanning oil and lotion applied to them? Good in a sense that you never no what the athlete will do or so.
I have seen a few of these pump room videos and some are certainly better then others. Some are downright boring. Some of the pump room videos (namely ones filmed by another company famous for their amateur contest coverage) are also geared towards a totally different audience, if you know what I mean. However I have seen the best pump room video and am excited to tell you about it.
GMV’s latest pump room video is footage from the 2006 Arnold Classic. This is by far the best formatted video of a pump room filmed. The chapters are broken down by athletes, and every athlete is featured. Instead of just filming the athlete pumping up and getting ready for the show, we also see the athletes going through the Weider photo shoots, and in most cases being interviewed as well. There is a lot of muscle action and if you’re a Branch Warren, or Victor Martinez or a Lee Priest fan, (three of the athletes you will see a lot of action from) you’ll love this video.
This action is non stop and broken up in different segments that the viewer never gets bored. Not mention some extra material such as more extensive interviewers, and a tribute to Lee Haney. The video also includes a very extensive photo gallery that shows all the athletes off in great condition.
So if you like these types of videos this will be the best one you’ll ever watch.
Great job to GMV for re-vamping the format and turning this type of feature into a very enjoyable video.
