I'm afraid I like "high brow' and Brit-com and usuallymost of the American/slapstick stuff... though Knocked Up was pretty good.
Big Monty Python fan... love "Sean of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" for example. And then I really prefer comedy from the 40's ala Cary Grant's early stuff.

Recently saw My Cousin Vinny! What a scream!! ;D
Of course being a Rodney Dangerfield fan, loved Back To School. He was basically playing himself, which is what he always did best! Great line about his ex wife: she gave great headache! ;D

Reese Witherspoon is a goddess to me. She can do no wrong! One comedy from the 40s I love: Miracle of Morgan's Creek. Zany but also daring for its time. Betty Hutton returns from a WW II soldiers party with a vague memory of getting married, and becomes pregnant. Her schnooky boyfriend wants to marry her, and one misadventure leads to another. It's hilarious.
And from the 70s: Goodbye Girl, a Neil Simon story with Marsha Mason (Simon's then wife) and Richard Dreyfuss who won an Oscar for his role. She's a dancer whose lover leaves her and her daughter and sublets the apartment they live in to his actor friend (Dreyfuss). She has no place to go so they agreeto share the apartment. One laugh after another, but also touching.
Both well worth seeing!

Chris, we definitely think alike on The Caddy and Python!!
Just saw a comedy from 1950 called Harvey, with Jimmy Stewart. His best friend is a 6' 6" rabbit only he can see. The Oscar winning performance by Joesphine Hull as his exasperated sister is worth seeing the film for alone! Highly recommended!
