When talking about some upcoming meets, financial planning just for GAS to get there and back was the topic.
I drive an F-150 with a BIG 8 Engine. Sucks gas like a pig!

This just seems like it's really uncalled for... Poverty stricken country's are having a hard time with the cost of food going up...

Dubai's a great example. They figure they have 25 yeaers left. And that was before China decided to become USA part 2 and start cosuming like we do x10. It's not going to get better.

You're right , Kyle. This will have a domino effect. Food prices will get even worse, as will other commodities.
Our local taxicab stand has raised its fares considerably to compensate for their increased expenses.
No wonder the economy and our dollar are so weak!

Yes, this is getting crazy just to live! I don't know how anyone is going to live comfortably when everything around us keeps going up. Housing is absolutely ridiculous here and gas and now we are even starting to see it at the grocery stores.
I agree it is going to hurt all us people that love working out!
Ouch!

Any vehicles that run on milk? ;D

My company had to raise the price of it's ice cream this past year due to cream, milk (dairy in general) having the raw product cost raise on them. We also changed recipes in certain flavors that aren't bad sellers, but not great either, so that the cost is cheaper and have a bigger profit. Four years ago, they switched the container from half gallons to 1.75qts. This year, along with the increase of fifty cents per unit, we reduced the size again keeping the price the same. Other companies that make ice cream, Breyer's, Sunnyside Farms, Blue Bunny etc.... are all doing the same for numerous reasons. The price of gas is a MAJOR factor in a lot of this. Not just dairy, which in my field is a huge reason, but the price of gas. It takes about $150 per stop to deliver product when you factor in the drivers wages, pallet costs, workers cost to pull product etc....many of our stores have different schedules now due to this; it's not cost effective to send in $200 of product to only gross $50 worth. I once saw a mud flap on a truck that stuck in my mind being so true..... "If you bought it, a trucker brought it." [/i] How do trucks get across the country? Gas. I filled up my tanks the other day and normally the pumps we use do not have the total cost of the fill-up on them- our cards we swipe and not worry about. The pump, when done, read $473 dollars for somewhere near 105 gallons of diesel.
