injury + 5 days = pretty colors Showed these to a guy at work, and he almost got sick! Soreness really setting in. See the surgeon in two days. Getting anxious. Let's slice and dice...bolt this sucker down and get into some aggressive rehab!

Hehe, I think that this guy you work with would also be sick going into a hardcore workout with you So the surgery is on Thurdsay? Everything is going to be fine Frank, you'll be better than a new after that! I'll send you positive energy on that day!

Mo, the consult is Thursday....not sure if the surgery will be that day or the next...but it needs to be soon. I understand the optimum time is 8-10 days after the injury.

I've been trying to hook up with as many people as I can who did the same thing so I can learn from thier experiences. I've already learned that that this is a common injury that you can recover stonger than before. There are different ways to reattach the tendon, some better than others...etc.
Trying not to make any more stupid mistakes!

Hanging in there. Had a nice conversation with my trainer yesterdsay.
Today is first day feeling actual pain. Must have twisted it in my sleep or something. Drugged up..feeling better!
Surgical consult tomorrow.
Thanks again to everyone for your support....keep it coming in the months to come. I'll need it! I will probably start a thread documenting my recovery in the hopes that it may be helpful t others.
I'll let ya know what the surgeon says tomorrow.

OK...Had surgical consult today Seemed like a nice guy. Has a background in sports medicine. He also already knew what was going on with me since his wife works out in my gym and one of our trainers is good friends with him and was just over his house for dinner. She filled him in told him to "hook me up!" Went as hoped. Did pre-op testing today ~ Surgery Tomorrow afternoon (Friday). Outpatient Surgery...should take about an hour. Single incision just below the elbow, and suture anchors using screws to the radial tuberosity. Soft cast/splint for 1 1/2 to 2 week, then rehab. I asked the surgeon for agressive surgery and rehab, and [glow=red,2,300] I told him [/glow]I will be 110% within 6 months and back on the platform competing in less than a year. He agreed and said it was a good plan. I asked for a special device that fits over the soft cast that extends the arm in increments every day to stretch the ligmant. He said it was a good idea and will order one for me. He just smiled when I asked if he'd be using the "henry" procedure or a double incision approach. I told him I've done my homework! So....grub down tonight...no food after midnight, sleep in...off to surgrey tomorrow afternoon. Should be back home by early evenening. Rehab...here we come! hmmmm...wonder if I can sneak in and finish my deadlift workout tonight? ;D Say a prayer for me.

Frank I just now read this. Sorry to hear about it, but I know you will recover fine. One bit of advice, do every thing your surgeon tells you. It has been almost 8 months since I had my tricep and elbow work. I probably did too much too soon, because I still have a few problems flare up every so often. Take care of yourself my friend, you have a long time left to lift heavy weights.

We're all up for it buddy! Good luck with the rehab. Did they install the "Steve Austin Special" and give all the cool bionics? All you'll need is the legs and telescopic eye to go with.
