I regret having to post that I won`t be able to compete in this years Masters Nationals.
I simply can`t afford to do it financially...........recently had to pay my property taxes, pay my gym membership, buy new tires and shocks, and help my wifes daughter a bit with as much as I could spare, plus bils food and all the other regular necesseities.
I am very dissapointed that I can`t compete as I feel I would have been a factor ib the 40 + 50 Lightweight classes.
If things change I will definately do the show but it doesn`t look good at the moment.
If possible moneywise I may do the IFBB North America which is just as expensive as the Masters Nats if not moreso.
The NABBA Nationals is much much cheaper and I will do that one come hell or high water.
Sorry that I can`t get to compete with Eric,Keith, and James, and see Steve(1400 Total),and Gerry T again.

Really sorry to hear this, Tim. Keep plugging away. Maybe things can change. If you can't, will miss you for sure. But will see you one of these days.
North America is a great show; maybe tougher than Masters Nats, since there is one masters division. And would be less expensive. But you would do well.
NABBA is always a good show, so definitely take advanatge of it. I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway; never know. Call if you can, or will try to call you ASAP.

Sorry to hear about this Tim. This is can be an expensive sport for sure, especially with traveling involved and entry fees that seem to keep going up. I wish you the best and I hope things change for the better soon.

Sorry to hear about that Tim. I know it is soooooo expensive to compete in this sport. Eating alone is crazy. I wish our figure suits were cheaper!!!
Don't get too down on yourself and things will work out. I know my husband felt the same way when he was told his schooling got changed and he couldn't compete in Nationals this year. It is a disappointment for sure, but keep training hard and something will work out for you. Stay motivated! All the best to you!

Hey Tim- sorry to hear about this- I know it's gotta be really disappointing. Just so you know (and I probably speak for quite a few others), I find you a GREAT inspiration in my bodybuilidng efforts as well as waht kind of person you seem to be. You're still one amazing person no matter if you NEVER enter a show. Keep the chin up- you'll only be bigger and better the next time you DO get onstage.

Sorry to hear this Tim. Don't let it get you down. Do the NABBA Nationals and kick ass. I will also be doing the North America if things don't pan out at the Masters Nationals so hopefully I will see you there.
The Masters Nationals is a very expensive show after you add up the entry fee, NPC card and hotel. The host hotel is something like $300.00 a night. Not sure I could do it either if I didn't live in Pittsburgh 30 minutes from the place.

Bodybuilding is an expensive sport, food, entry fees, pro-tan etc....so I understand your reasons why you are unable to compete in the Master's Nationals, but like Eric said you will be able to do the NABBA nationals and I know your disappointment will just drive you to kick major butt in the gym, the diet and at the show.

Your disappointment is well understood by us all, but there are still many, many more competitive outings in your future, and with your work ethic and passion you will continue to improve with each one!
This show was not meant to be, but the next one will!

Thanks for the encouragement everybody, most people would just say big deal, but it takes other muscleheads to know how much it really affects us!! I was depressed as I was looking right on target, but family and responsibilities have to come first. I was so bummed out,I even missed leg day on Monday.and with my twiglike legs,I can`t afford to do that too much! ;D Gerry, there is now an Over-50 division at the Northa Americas with weight classes,so I`ll try to hit that and hopefully I won`t be seeing Eric B. there because he just won his pro-card in Ptttburgh! If nothing else,I`ll hit NABBA NAts which is like $300.00 cheaper. Masters Nats is prestigous as hell, and that is my reason for wanting to do it the most. Anyway,I`ll save cash early next year and kick some senior citizen ass in Pitt! Thanks again for the encouragement..........I feel a lot better now that I have thought about it and put it into perspective. Train Hard!!

Just shows what kind of man you are. Puttting something that is very important to you on the back burner, too help others. You are a great life lesson. Where ever you compete, you will kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're not the only one finding it tough financially Tim-I've had to cut out all but the essential supplements and rely more on whole food, and even thats expensive. I can't go anywhere even for a weekend but I know if I keep saving now I will be better off in the long run..

To compete is so expensive… the hotel room, registration, traveling, etc. I know you're not happy having to change your plan Tim, but I'm glad to see that you've been able to take a step back and put it into perspective. Because in my humble opinion competing is NOT what makes someone a bodybuilder (it's mainly there to flatter egos, hehe :-) ) … but the training ideologies, the nutrition sacrifices and the lifestyle IS. And Tim, by doing all that better than almost everyone is what make you one heck of a bodybuilder… competing at the Nationals or not...
