I've been working some crazy hours the past 6 months. At least 60 hour work weeks. I've also been putting in just about every other Saturday. Plus the added stress of being a manager is getting to me.
Last night when I got home I was tired. I felt like hitting the sack. I'm disgusted with my current weight, and my job is giving me more stress then I can handle. I haven't been lifting consistantly for some time. I actually hadn't got a good workout in over 6 weeks.
Well i went down to my weight room and banged out the weights. It was awesome. Benching 320 for 5, dumbell pressing 120's for 6, shoulder pressing 225! It was great. Then i realized what i've been missing.
My beloved weights!!! How much a stress reliever the weights really are. In fact I'm getting excitied just thinking about the workout I'll be doing in about 5 minutes.
It just took so much off my shoulders that I woke up this morning feeling like a new man.
Yes the weights are great. They define, in some ways, who I am.
Now if you excuse me, I got some Iron to hurl around!

I can relate Steve,I used to be an off and on trainer for many years because of my alcoholism, and it left a big void in my life.
It now defines who I am in many ways, and has given me a new identity, bodybuilder, other than the word drunk!!
I`m thankful for the sport, and as I have said before...I credit it for saving my life!!
Great lifting by the way, but are you gonna` be one sore dude!! ;D

I agree with you guys. Working out has definitely made me who I am. I didn't start working out till I was 20. I was skinny, shy and lacked self-confidence. Working out has given me great self-confidence in all areas of my life. This gave me the self confidence to go back to school and get a degree in the profession I have wanted a job in since I was kid. I feel if I can workout and go through a grueling 16 week contest prep, everything else in life is easy.
