so i woke up this morning, went to the bathroom, then started to go downstairs to eat my PROatmeal...i yawned, and had a sharp intense pain in my middle lower back...confused, i wanted to test it, so i took a deep breath, and the same thing happened...i tried to "pop" my back, thinking that may be the problem, but nothing popped...
seeing as how today was back day, I thought that was a bad sign, and since I don't know even what is causing this (it is still doing it) I didn't think that I should push the issue...suffice to say, I stayed home, and got an extra hour of sleep...I'm not sure if i should have just pushed through it, or what?
what do you all think, should I have gone to the gym anyways? this isn't exactly a hardcore injury, i know, but it was unsettling enough to worry me...

Smart move IMO,there is always another back workout next week...why push your luck?
I took this week off because I`m burntout....something I very seldom do, but I know that in the long run, I will be much better for it.
Always listen to your body`s feedback, and it`ll tell you what you need to know!!
I hope it`s nothing serious bro !!

I'm gonna have to do some cardio tomorrow morning though, so that I can eat more later

There have been many times that I have felt somtething wrong and I pushed through it and trained anyway and EVERY time I made the injury worse.
Take the time off, live to fight another day.
Bodybuilding is a marathon, not a sprint.

Better to be safe than sorry with your back. You may have something pinching a nerve, it's hard to say. Get it checked out if it's not getting better by Friday!

You may have something pinching a nerve it must just be that my back is so massive that it can't even support itself anymore and all of my muscles are compressing my spine and pinching my nerves ... i just now noticed it though, a la cavemuscle, lol ;D...

I hate to miss a workout, like most of you. Many times I have had that 'pop' or something else in the mid or lower back, but I didn't skip the back workout. Instead, I would only do chins, pulldowns, and rowing movements where the torso was supported, like Hammer machines or the supported T-bar row with the pad on your chest. I wouldn't do deads or barbell rows for sure.
Of course, taking the day off is probably even better, but God knows I can't bring myself to do that. And yes, I did train this morning on Thanksgiving!
