this is Roger's wife with a question (i am a member but college keeps me off of here a lot, timewise, even though i do read a lot of the posts) Here is my question - I'm getting ready for my show - 3 weeks out - when i am standing around or doing other poses, my abs look great, but as soon as i put my arms above my head and crunch - they are gone, any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. i've tried not crunching down, just trying to blow out a little, but this really doesn't help much - thanks in advance guys - sunny

Try this: place hands behind head as low as possible so elbows are high. Blow out and bring elbows in close to your head. This should widen lats and tense abs from the side.
And be conscious of your back. Arch lower back a bit to tesne abs from the back. Same is true for back shots; if you hold abs in it brings out lower back.
Keep practicing and good luck.

I would add to Gerry's comment that the majority of people I know having trouble with this pose simply dont blow the air out enough! You need to concentrate on our abs and breathe out almost all the air you have! Good luck, keep us posted! Mo

Definitely, Mo! Breathing is very important in all the poses, and this one especially.
Listen to ProMo!!
