Some of you that read my journal will know where this rant is coming from.
After dealing with my roommate for 8.5 years, I can't stand it any longer. Last month I called the landlord and had the landlord start eviction proceedings. The eviction authorities were called, and today notices were posted on front AND back doors, as well as being mailed USPS. I got home, read the notice posted on the back door, addressed to me. I hear my roommate get up and walk out that door.
I knock on his door and ask him "What is this Crap?!?!?" and he (completely) nonchalantly says "Oh if that's regarding another 3 day pay or quit, don't worry about it." Really?!?!?!? I have been talking to my landlord for the last month "comparing notes" about what is being said. The roommate is lying, scamming and anything else you can think of.
I'm tired of it!!!
Today, the roomie tells me after a few exchanges that the bill for his share of the back rent ($4k....four THOUSAND dollars) is ready to be paid...by his parents!!!
How can you be a 41 year old man, responsible "adult" and have your parents pay your way through life?
He completely plays the "I'm a crippled" card, and tries to get through with free handouts. Awhile back, I told him to stop eating my food, make sure the kitchen is clean. After repeatedly telling him to do so, he fails time and time again!
So todays 3 day pay or quit will most likely be paid by his parents. That means the next step is either 30 day eviction and/or I move out. Me nor the landlord want myself to move out! I like it here.
If worse comes to worse, I've started off from scratch numerous times. And I'll do so again if I must. But if I'm current on my rent, and he is not....why does he have more rights than I do?
