Our WOTW guru is always giving credit to everyone but I think it's time for us to give it back to him! What about a little tribute to Tim Wescott?

Some more about the main man... from his great website:

---------------
Tim was always a small frail kid. He weighed 98 pounds!!! He knew nothing about lifting weights and wasted a lot of time following marathon routines which he got from the magazines! His first experience of lifting weights came about when a friend of his purchased a set of plastic weights in the early 70`s.
"We worked out every day. All we did was curls and we would see how much we could lift overhead. I could press my own bodyweight which was a whopping 98 lbs...I was the proverbial 98 lb. weakling. We did this everyday; not too scientific." ~ Tim Wescott
It was in Junior High School (7th Grade) where he met classmate Royal Gomes who had a great physique, just so happened to train with a fellow by the name of Chris Gordon who was a serious competitive bodybuilder. Chris lived in Tim's hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. Tim went to see both his friends compete in the MR. NEW ENGLAND CONTEST, a contest which Tim would later enter himself in the years to come. This was the first time Tim had ever seen so many huge guys. It was Tim's first real taste of training and he continued to Work out on and off but never consistently. It wasn't until 1993 when he moved to Florida, at 40 years of age that he began training seriously again. We say again because during Tim's early years he missed 11 years of training due to alcoholism and drug abuse.
"I love bodybuilding because it literally saved my life! I was an alcoholic and drug user for about 33 years, and missed around 11 years of training... 7 of them in a row. Bodybuilding has enabled me to overcome this obstacle. I went from severe body abuse, to being almost obsessed with the sport; it's a healthy obsession though and I recommend it to anyone regardless of their goals. It also enables me to look and feel much younger than I really am." ~ Tim Wescott
With sheer determination and a love for bodybuilding Tim has bounced back with avengence. To this date, 17th July 2008, Tim has entered 30 contests and amassed over 60 trophies in powerlifting and bodybuilding combined. And who knows how many more in the coming future? He still trains hard if not harder than anyone today and would give youngsters half his age a run for their money! He plans to keep training and competing as long as he is able to.
TRAINING
Tim trains each body part once a week, and never does the exact same workout twice in a row. He feels by doing it this way his body will not have much of a chance to adapt to a routine and exercise variety is almost endless. He trains as heavy as possible for his rep target and keeps cheating to a minimum working more for feel.
NUTRITION
Tim eats 6-8 times a day depending on his goals. High protein, moderate to low carbs and moderate to low fats. He cycles carbs and eats every 2.5 - 3 hours. Two shakes or less per day, as he feels solid food is a much better choice. He finds now that he's older, his body is much more "carb sensitive" and low carbs are a must if he wants to get cut for competition.
Pre-contest Time he eats the usual diet fare:
Egg whites
ckicken breasts
tuna
fish
lean beef
oatmeal
yams
potatoes
brown rice
veggies/salads
In the off-season it`s the same things although he includes dairy, fruits and breads with much more beef and lots of pasta!!
FAVORITE BODYBUILDING MOMENTS
"Placing in the masters nationals and winning my class in the Southern States contest for the first time when everyone said I couldn`t do it after years of not training and abusing my body with booze and drugs." ~ Tim Wescott
"Being in the movie Pumping Iron in an audience scene, and coming back after 33 years of drinking to realize my dreams of competing and winning!"~ Tim Wescott
