Congrats to Melvin. I have to say I was VERY disappointed however with some of the juding.... If you guys get a chance, check out one of the 16th place winners, Margin Kjellstrom. THis guys TOTALLY got screwed.

OH MY... I completely forgot about this show!!! Thanks for the reminder and for the website link with the results Gerry!
Mike, I'm not sure about Kjellstrom. This guy is huge, but when you add conditionning and proportions in the mix, he's not that good. But maybe you're right and 16th place was a bit exaggerated...

Intensity- DARN you and bringing up proportions all the time! haha. I actualy think for his massive size, Kjellstrom is really good. He did go for a little more size this show than before and lost a little of the rediculous striations he usually shows but still had them nonetheless. I did a fairly detailed thread on my complaintes about the judging on the MUsc Development forum. Seeing that King Kamali placed 6th.. I was really disgusted. I was upset for both Kjellstrom and for Mark Lavoie (one of you Canadians I believe!!! He's an OVER 40 guy that has mass and great classic lines and proportions not to mention REDICULOUS rips in his legs. You seen him?

LaVoie is an incredible athlete and went right from the North Americans (he won overall open and masters) to the pros. He did very well in his first pro appearance (7th in pro masters and 13th in open) and should place higher in future pro events.
Agree that Kamali was over placed and Kjellstrom should have been in the mix. I admire Kjellstrom's mass but he needs more refinements proportionally and detail wise before he can be competitive in the top echelon. I can see him improving and one day being on the Olympia stage.

Mike, I realize that I often sound like the "Proportions" official spoke person ;D and it's not because I believe that proportions are more important than size... it's just that I know that "Size" already has a loooot of spoke people in this sport and doesn't need me to be one more! That being said, I agree with you for Kjellstrom and Lavoie

Some guys go so much for size they ruin their bodies. I think Lavoie is really awesome - size AND lines.
