Yesterday I read an article on Muscular Development's site that stated Cholesterol builds muscle. Do you guys think it is safe to try increasing the cholesterol for a few months to build up? I want to try it (I have low levels now) and see if it helps. Opinions please.

I don't, only because mine is high. I would continue to eat right and let nature take its course. Ive read that "too high" cholesterol, causes low test... Anyways, read this... -------------------------------------------------- Cholesterol is necessary for your body to produce testosterone. However, raising you cholesterol levels will not increase you testosterone levels. High levels of testosterone (usually from using anabolic steroids) can lower levels of HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol). Without exception, I recommend that everyone healthy person not eat foods that raise cholesterol levels and I recommend that no one take anabolic steroids. It is always unhealthy to eat too much unhealthy foods. You can get extra calories and gain weight in a healthy way. Eating egg yolks and red meat WILL help. It will not give you high cholesterol, unless you have a predisposed issue

From what I've read, it may help a little... but when you consider the risk you take versus the gain you may get, I'd say it's not the first thing I'd recommend you to manipulate in your diet!!! Before that, I'd ask: - Do you eat enough protein? (depending of the individual, between 200g and 350g) - Do you eat 6-7 or 8 meals every day? (To fasten your metabolism) - Do you have enough essential fat? (For testosterone level) - Do you eat slow digesting carb (low glycemic index) like oatmeal and brown rice... but fast digesting carb post-workout? - What about slow digesting protein at night... variations in you diet every 2-3 weeks or so... carb cycling... and what is your level of intensity in the gym, really... etc. So the Cholesterol may build muscle... but I think it's some icing on the cake... so make that you have made a cake before that I hope it helps! I've personally eaten whole eggs and red meat my entire life and my cholesterol has always checked at normal levels (below 200).
