I gotta share this!
My Grandaughter ( Kylee ~ 11 years old), was just accepted to Cuyahoga Heights School Systems. I know that may not mean much to you, but this school is one of the top accredited schools in our area. I (Papa) will be paying the tuition, but it's a worthwhile investment.
She had to fill out an application and be interviewed by a board. She was immedietely told she has been accepted on her grades alone (Straight A's since first grade), and her State Test Scores (blew them out of the water!). The fact that she is a star athlete in basketball, baseball, and soccer didn't hurt either! Along with being a tutor to underclassmen, involved in acting, and is a school "interventionalist" for kids who have disagreements with each other or with teachers. She's also a percussionist in the band.
Each classroom (at Cuyahoga Heights) has a remote control at each desk, so the teacher may ask "Does everyone understand the concept of what I just taught?", the student can press, yes or no on their remote. Yes, the teacher moves on, No, the teacher reviews the lesson. No studetn knows who did or did not press thier remote button. Cool idea! She'll also be given a lap top to do all her work on.
I'm so proud and excited for her to have this opportunity! She will really go far, and be able to be and do whatever she wants in life.
IF she was to go to the middle school in our city, they have a terrible gifted program, minimal sports, a lot of drugs and bad attitude.
THIS is certainly a blessing!

Great news Frank! I have heard nothing but good about that school system. Can't beat having a good education especially early. I started in a cleveland school system. When my parents moved to Strongsville, they held me back a year because I was for example still on adding and subtracting while my new school was multiplying and deviding in that same grade. Iknow, I know run on sentence.

Congrats Frank!! Good school system.
As Carl said a good education early on can help a lot later down the road. Instill the habits of quality learning early and she'llbe able to carry that through in the even that to rate schooling happens to not be there for a time.
GREAT NEWS!! BE PROUD!!
