Ok...I took my first Zumba Class today (Don't laugh Vince!)
It was great. I needed something to switch up my cardio, especially with the herniated discs in my back.
The Class was One Hour long, high intensity. There were 25 people in the class....24 young ladies (yes, in spandex) and Me (No, not in spandex).
The instructor said that if you can keep the intensity you can easily burn 750 calories in one hour. AND YES, I did hang with the instructors intensity for the entire hour! The instructor was Latina, VERY high energy....and Super HOT ! ! !
If I can still walk tomorrow. I'm going back for another class!
(By the way, with changes in my nutrition and the pick up of cardio, I've lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks) ;D

In case you DO NOT know what Zumba is.....
A Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps mainly derived from Latin music. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt the body. It targets areas such as the gluteals, legs, arms, abdominals, and the heart. Particpants do not have to know how to dance to do Zumba. The move combinations and Latin rhythms (derived from Salsa, Rumba, Etc.) strive to create a party-like atmosphere - a more "feel happy" workout than may be experienced in other group exercise class types. A Zumba class is typically not formulaic in that instructors often add on their own music choices and choreographies to make their class presentation locally unique.
Zumba has aligned with AFAA (Aerobic & Fitness Association of American), the American Council on Exercise, Can-Fit-Pro (International Trade Show & Conference in Canada), and other fitness facility chains and organizations.
