What a great story!! These type of people are to be admired, and there are quite a few of them involved in bodybuilding............a sport that seems to improve most physical maladys, in spite of how demanding it is!! I know I could`nt do it under those conditions.

There was a young guy at the gym in Texas I was at who had no arms from the elbow down. He bench pressed! The bar lay right on top of his stumps. He did lat pulldowns using straps. He would just walk in the gym, do his workout and leave. Everybody would look and you know do their own reality check. It's like, "What do I have to bit*h about?" He was so young too. Just amazing.

There's a woman at my gym who is am amputee from the elbow down on one arm. She doesn't try to hide it, or cover it up with sweats, she wears tank tops and uses practically every machine we've got. I've never spoken to her, because she wears headphones, but I see her there a few times a week. She's pretty much all business and to see her train you'd never she she had a physical handicap. (Makes me stop complaining about whatever trivial I thought was so important every time I see her.)

These are true warriors and my respect and admiration for all of them is boundless.
A recent issue of NPC News had a really inspirational photo of Victor Konovalov on the cover. He has won the Wheelchair Nationals 4 times. These wheelchair bound athletes personify courage and athleticism to the max.
