How in hell do you figure out who they mean and how much is 20% of your muscle size? :Head Scratch:

Great news!!! (Is that politicaly correct to say that?). But in the other hand, would it become even more confusing for people to understand the placing? And since the feminity is a subjective thing... i predict a lot of complains! Lets see... Mo

How in hell do you figure out who they mean and how much is 20% of your muscle size? my thoughts exactly! We need to focus more of feminie not Muscularity... you can be huge and look great.. or small and look manly.. i know its questionable but we need to get a grip on it and start judging like we are looking at females..

I agree,it`s too subjective, and everybody`s opinion on how big is too big, varies. I guess we`ll have to see this 20 % reduction put into play! It`s gonna` cause an uproar,no doubt about it!! :Argue:

It`s gonna` cause an uproar,no doubt about it!! ya it is very subjective..But i really like the idea of someone at MM about IFBB posting pics of the IDEAL physque for Bbing, figure and fitness..I think that will really clear things up..

This has happened a few times before. And it's one of the reasons, I believe, that Vickie Gates retired. One year, she was told that all female athletes should show up much smaller, so she showed up about 15lbs lighter and softer as asked. She lost to a girl who was much bigger and more cut, Andrulla Blanchette, who took the Ms. Olympia Heavyclass and shared the title with Valentina Chepiga (who I find amazing beautiful- think I could get set up with her?). There was an interview about it in MMI I think. She wasn't happy at all. She did what the judges and officials requested, yet was still denied- and to a person that looked exactly like she had the year before!!! I am not knocking Andrulla at all, I find her just as attractive as Valentina or Monica Brant. But I hate to see someone do as asked (I do it all the time) then get shafted for doing as asked.

As if they care about the athletes health.................ticket sales could just be a motivator.

Wow. At first I thought this was a joke but it's posted on the ifbb website. www.ifbb.com/ifbbpro/2004news/decrease20.htmI know this might sound crazy but why not *really* drug test women? That would have the same net result as this IFBB decree and would have the benefit tht everyone not having to figure out what the heck a "20% reduction in muscularity" looks like.

That would have the same net result as this IFBB decree and would have the benefit tht everyone not having to figure out what the heck a "20% reduction in muscularity" looks like. because then they would be too small. I have very little respect for the organizers of the IFBB, they do very few things for the good of the athletes. I was backstage at the olympia (i was going to be a trophy presenter but things got all messed up) and you would think at the biggest bodybuilding show in the world they would have it well organized. No, they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off... which was one of the reasons I didn't present. first they said they needed me... then they didn't, then someone didn't show up so they needed me again, then they didn't... after that I said "to hell with it" and I left. It was said to see that the organizers just don't really care that much while the athletes put so much into getting ready for the show. -Layne

I think in the long run this will be a good rule. Even though the IFBB could care less about the health of there athletes. Remember its always about the $$$. Being around the sport for a few years I can really respect the work and determination these women put into there physiques. At the end of the day though its about sponcorship money and how many people came to see the show. The mainstream public and even most bodybuilding fans dont like to look at women that look like freaks. If womens bbing is to survive they have to continue moving in this direction. Now the 20% thing, lets hope they were just using a general number because that would be a tad hard to measure. -powerhouse

i just find it a tad bit hypocritical
ok we want you huge and ripped... but not too huge and ripped.
it is bodybuilding for god's sakes. People watch the IFBB to see freaks, if you want to see symmetrical and aesthetic physiques watch a natural bodybuilding competition... lord knows we could use the fans
