Carl, I am going to make you look very big on stage. My contest wt will be about 122lbs. at 5'2". Your lat width makes me jealous. Looking forward to meeting you in Pittsburg. Neal Hell yeah! Us "little guys" are gonna steal the show!!! I'll be sure to pm you my number early that week. A lot of people to meet, it's gonna be a blast. I am starting to cut up pretty well. Took this after my morning cardio today 29 DAY!!!!!!!! I posted this in my journal on another website...... I like how my delts and abs are getting deep cuts. Chest is starting to striate across. Arms are shaping up! Lost a little vascularity over the past couple weeks while cutting the carbs some. No big deal, they shall come back when I load up on them the final week. Not as massive as EBA84 (Eric B.) but I do like how I'm looking giving what I got to work with. Great job Carl. Always great to follow your progress. Much success!

Carl, you're looking very hard and ripped! I'm not sure if I like that version of the most muscular pose for you. Maybe we can play around with a few variations and see if there's one better. You want to play up your strengths. Especially after working so hard.

Well it certainly works for you! You look better than quite a few pros I've seen. Re BF % I don't any more either, but I know my lean mass and total bodyweight and just approximate. The mirror really is the key, though. Took me 4 years to get that in my head. Now if I can stop loking different in different mirrors, that would be helpful, lol. I was struck by how vascular you are alll over. Have you always been like that? And I've noticied when its hot, I get more vascular, esp being in the sun, or after 20 min a tanning bed. Anyone else have that happen? I stayed very lean this off season. I have actually only lost 7 or 8 pounds in 12 weeks. Staying leaner in the off season enabled me to hold more mass as I diet. You always look different in different mirrors and lighting. I always take my pictures for MUSCLETECH in the same lighting so there is no variation. I look at myself at home in the worst mirror. I know when I am looking how I want to look in the worst setting then I am there. It is all a mind game. I also have a couple people who keep my head on straight and look at me weekly. If it wasn't for them, I would probably be an over dieted light heavy right now. I tend to overdo things. Ha. Funny thing. My home mirrors are the worst as well. If I could look good in those, I would look good anywhere..

You want to play up your strengths. Especially after working so hard. I totally agree with you. I always use the hands on the hips most muscular on stage. I work my upper chest to hell, it just does not fill out well. I really think that is the issue with that most muscular for me. I took that Thursday and Friday off work. I will be there Around Noon Thursday. I plan on soaking up all the experience that I can from many people those days. Then I took Monday off as well. I just know all the food I'll eat on sunday (ok and some adult beverages) I will not feel like going to work. 28 DAYS!!!!!!!

OMG!!! Carl... I'm very impressed! You've always had a great physique, but honestly you are taking it to another level! If you agree with me and still like what you see 6-7 days out, ypu know what you have to do... "nothing"! Eric... We just dont get used to it... Every year I have a huge shock when you post your pics! Hehe! One of the best bodybuilder I know, bottom line.

This has become a super thread.
Look forward to meeting everyone next month (four weeks!).
Carl and Neal, know you will bring top f;ight conditioning. And Eric looks ahead of schedule, and should be tough to beat again. Neal, Scott P is a good friend of mine and will compete at the WFF Universe next weekend in Germany (he won over 40 division st that show last year).
And look forward to seeing James on stage. Know he will be at his best!
Good luck, guys. Hope to see you off and on stage.

Yeah, now its getting fun again! I don't know about you guys, but weeks 4 to 8 kind of suck. Too far out to be real exciting, too close to make mistakes. Now seeing every one hitting great shape, it makes me want to push even harder (send the ambulance to...lol). Also can't wait to see you guys, I think of you as friends and comrades in iron, so that's a special bond. (Was that too sappy?) Any way, train hard everyone, were almost there. PS, Gerry, if I'm able to post some poses on here, would you mind throwing critique or input my way? I feel good with the mandatories, but there's always something that the experienced, objective eye can catch.

Very good pose for you, Carl. Brings out the delts also.
You might want to try the open hands together shot (sometimes called the praying pose). With developed tris, it can be very effective.

Carl, omg, yes! You look good there. You could do that, then swing into a hybrid- one arm as is, bring the other out and forward. If I'm not being clear, Gerry could probably explain better. I see you as having a more symmetrical, proportionate type physique (think Zane, and play that up- and I think you'll be damn tough to beat if you do!).

My training week has gone awesomely! Only cardio left tommorrow. Down to 239.5 lbs as of this afternoon. Got told Dang, you look more vascular every time you come in to workout!, lol. A good sign, I hope. Tired, and hungry a bit, but excited!

Thanks for the input guys!!! I have been playing around with different angles of the most muscular. Unless they specifically call out for the Crab, I'll stick with what's best for me at that time. Let's just say I'm really not that worried about it. 19 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!! I'm seeing even more separation in the legs. Longer striation through the chest. waist is coming in a little more. Base tan starting to get darker. (going to up the minutes the next two weeks in the tanning bed). Down to 135.5 this morning and feeling great!!!! All I need to do is get to the final week and do the water/carb thing and I'll be set. Well, that's how I feel about it anyway.

Very good, Carl. Almost always in prejudge, judges ask for "favorite most muscular" so you can do what is most effective for you. I think what James means by hybrid is one hand on hip and the other in crab position? Sorry if I am misunderstanding. try all the variations and see what works best. And just saw this: Posing routines for the top 5 BB in each class at night show is 60 seconds (not 90), so plan accordingly. www.garyudit.com/npc_main.html
