lol Cake! Are you talking about Glens Falls, possibly. That`s way south of where I am bro, almost Tropical. ;D Minnesota get`s a little cold huh? I remember in the 70`s I was a big Vikings fan,and it looked raw.I`m about 4 - 5 hours or so from Buffalo ,and they get mega-snow.Time for me to move back to Florida !

Robert, I skipped doing the dips this week, and just finished off my chest routine with some light ,high rep flyes.I was out of gas after benching and doing DB inclines.I`m going to give the 100 pounder a shot next week for at least 3-5 reps. We`ll see .

After doing Incline dumbbell presses then going on to do Barbell Incline Presses i went to weight chest dips. Man my chest felt weak here. Managed only 46.2 pounds (dumbbell from waist) for 4 reps. Goodluck with the 100 pounder. ;D

Thanks Robert,I`ll need it! We`d probably do a whole lot more weight if we did dips first.I do about ten heavy sets for chest before I even start dips.Oh well you can`t have all good days I guess.Keep me posted on your dipping progress.

I tried to dip with the 100 pounder today and only managed to sqeeze out two sloppy/shaky reps.I didn`t even count them.In my defense ,I will say that at the college gym I train at has only an assisted dip/chin machine to use for dipping, and it freakin` sucks bigtime. My foot hit the step that is attatched to the machine on the first rep,and threw me off a bit.I need a week of high reps with light dumbells and machines.I`ve been training heavy as hell for the last 9 weeks and have set new personal records at almost every workout.I need to give the body a bit of a small break.Next week is the time to back off a bit,and come back stronger.

Well managed only 55 pounds on dips today for 5 reps. Along way off but i'm doing the dips after Incline dumbell and incline barbell bench presses so i expect my strength to be down at first on the dips. I'm going up though. If you need a break TJ take it man. Being able to listen to your body is good for progress and saves injuries.

I know what you mean,I did 6 sets of benches for 5x5 and then 1 to failure with 20 pounds less (I got 11 reps),then 4 heavy sets of DB Inclines.I`ll try the dips again in a week or so but I`ll try to add reps to the 80 pounder and slowly increase the weight.Keep pumping buddy, and train hard.

Managed 61.6 pounds today for dips. Got 3 reps only.
I have a thing for dumbbell bench pressing now. So every week i start off with Incline Dumbbell Presses. I always see what weight i can press for 1 or 2 reps, maybe more if i have the strength. Anyway today i pressed a pair of 99 pound dumbells for 2 reps on the Incline bench. My target is 110 pounds for 2. I love dumbbells. If your struggling on your last rep you can decide to just do a really slow negative rep and then proceed to drop the dumbbells. Great if your training by yourself like me. With barbells you just can't do negative training. (By yourself i mean) ;D

Hey Tim. How's the training going mate? I managed 1 rep with a 110 pound Dumbell on the weighted chest Dips today. Hard as hell. I've began a new routine as of yesterday. My workouts were becoming really boring and i wasn't gaining much strength. So i bought a new training book and made up a new routine where i only do 1 rep sets. I have a Powerlifting Competition this Saturday. I wasn't gona enter cause i'm totally unprepared for it. Just haven't gained any strength since my last meet. Wish me luck anyway! Thats something you should do. Enter a Powerlifting meet. Your pretty strong yourself and could do well but i don't know what the competition is like over where your from, lol! Robert ;D

Hey Robert, nice going on the dips that`s a lot of weight bro. My advice to you would be to rest up all week and just visualize yourself making all of your attempts.Good luck buddy. I was thinking about entering an over 40, or over 45 meet this winter, as all my lifts were climbing, but lately it`s been getting even harder to get to the gym.I had another car I was going to switch engines with but problems came up and it will not work.I am still without a car presently, and doing half-assed wimpy workouts at home.I got to the gym to squat once early last week and haven`t managed to get a ride since then.Very depressing to watch my lifts and size disappear as I`m sure they will sooner or later.I`m not quitting, as Ive done that in the past too many times due to my drinking problem, but it is discouraging just trying to barely hang in there, without any control over the situation.Good luck in your meet my friend, and keep me posted as to the outcome. Oh yeah... kick some ass!!

Thanks TJ, will do. You should buy a Power Rack TJ. With those things, you can do full workouts in. All you would need after that is a bar and plenty of weights. Should'nt take up too much room.
