Mini-hijack...sorry YB: I have not liked the word diet for exactly the reason you described. It's fast and easier than trying to explain to a "layperson" to say "diet", but it has such a negative conotation (sp?). By saying " My nutrition plan" just encompasses so much more. Only those of us who live "THE" lifestyle we lead, would understand. We now return you to your normal programming Tara, It is true that you need your rest days. When you are lifting in the gym, you cause miniscule tears to your muscle fascia. It is when you rest, that the muscle rebuild themselves, and THAT is how your muscle grow. So the proper rest is just as important as the proper workout and nutrition. Think of it as a stool with 3 legs (Weights, Nutriton, Rest). Without the 3 legs in balance, the stool is worthless, and will topple over. Same with your time in and out of the gym. Now THAT being said....I feel your pain I think all of us have fallen victim to the "I MUST BE IN THE GYM" bug, for whatever reason. Workout, ego, bordom, socializing, etc....leads us into our temple of iron. If ya GOTTA be there, then do not have remorse for it, but switch things up. On an "off-day"...experiment with some light weights on something you've always wanted to try, or a machine you've always strayed away from. Or perhaps do a light cardio only session, or an abs only session. Or...go socialize and help out by spotting another lifter. You never know what you might learn, or who you might "click" with. Remember that there are a lot of people your age (and mine!), who are home sitting on thier butts, getting fat, and NOT going to a gym. BY just stepping insdie, look how far ahead you are! But you have to have balance. Remember the stool? Perhaps on an "off-day" you could research your nutrition a little deeper, prepare a short and/or long range goal for your fitness life, or heck....sign into WOTW...you might just teach us all a thing or two also!!! Sorry for the long rambling, but I've been there too. Overtraining is a dark, dark side that can sneak up on you. Move forward...not back. Ta-Da! I'm done Frank

I'm SUPER hot! ;D Modesty is such an attractive quality..... So I'm starting training with the owner of my gym today. We'll see how it goes. Seeing as that trainer that took Jeremy's place never calls back and doesn't seem to care much, I cancelled my membership with them for a small fee..it's worth it though!!

Hey ,I'm still here. My computer got a virus, so I couldn't get on. I'm living at my friend's house right now and she has TWO computers..yay
Things are going well with training. The new trainer killed my legs Saturday...it's pretty hard to walk or sit down, which is always fun.
I did chest/tris yesterday and shoulders today...we're meeting tomorrow for back.
So, I had my date on Sunday. It went FANTASTIC!!! He's nice, funny, smart, successful, good looking and best of all..he likes me too! We're going out again on SAturday. I felt a little guilty until I discovered that the ex had been seeing people before we separated..so no more guilt..lol..I'm free!
So Monday, I'm going to start cracking down more on the diet...I've been doing well, but not weighing too strictly or counting macros really..I'll be 20 weeks out
So, my friend has HDTV, which I've never had...wow..I've been missing out!!! lol

Very nice Tara. Looks like things are coming together...VERY happy for you. Lean into those workouts girl! The hard work will pay off in the end result, you'll see! Keep strict to your diet, but don't let it rule your life. Glad the date went well. Sounds like a nice guy. Fingers crossed that all works out. The friends "crib" sounds sweet. Glad someone has your back on that. Enjoy life. 20 weeks out.....write down those goals. Make sure you take some pics (even if you don't share them ), because you will want to compare before and after later to see your progress. I have pics from 2003 forward. I even have some that I didn't like the "look", and had them blown up to 8x10, then took a Sharpie and drew on them of what needed to be sculpted, and where. Glad things are looking up. Remember...we are here for you girl!

But even though it went well, I can't understand why you didn't put out!!! I thought I had you good and drunk, and the roofies I slipped you should have helped!!! ;D Seriously- glad you had a good time, and keep on those workouts, the contest will be here before you know it!

Sounds like things are ironed out as far as training. Hopefully this new trainer works out well for you. I agree with Frank, pics are always very helpful for before and after. Are you still going to do the "Cut diet?"

Hey guys! I'm still around..just super busy! Not too busy to hit the gym though. My "official" contest prep starts tomorrow. I'm 20 weeks out. My trainer is giving me a diet today and I am ready to get this fat gone!
I'm going to start being more detailed in here as of tomorrow, to keep myself more accountable.
On my way out right now...leg day!
