I just checked the resuults and Eric got third in his division. Super Heavyweight over 40.
In my humble opinion judging by the photos only there seemed to be a film of water blurring his conditioning.
Even with that I'm not sure I agree with the placing. It looked like a tough class to judge but I think I'd have had him placed higher.
Great job Eric!

Thanks guys. I honestly should have pulled out of this one. I had some pretty bad issues with hypoglycemia the last three weeks and had to keep carbs pretty high to stop it from happening. My metabolism was and is in overdrive and my body was telling me it had enough. I dieted for 24 weeks total which I will never do again. Now is off season time and time to get better for next year.
Thanks again.

Congrats Eric! You are a winner in my book no matter what! You're always in top shape for these shows, the competition is unbelievable at the level you're at!
Do you still have you're Mustang? I have a neighbor that has a 08 GT 500 Cobra for sale and I thought about you when I saw it the other day!

I read your journal a couple of times a week. You do everything by the book and your physique shows it. Just keep it up and it will pay off. I still have the Mustang. 07 California Special. I am actually going to sell it. I only put 200 miles on it this year. No sense in making a monthly payment on it if I am not going to drive it. It sat for 8 months and the battery went dead. lol

Eric,
Congratulations on very competitive year. I believe that to truly appreciate your 24 weeks of dedication, one needs to have actually prep'ed for a contest.I look forward to the 2010 Eric.

Neal Thanks Neal. It was really hard getting ready for the North America this year. My body just wouldn't respond like it usually did. I thnk I drove it too hard for the Masters and it said "screw you" when it realized there was another contest to do...lol I am just glad the off season is here. There are some areas I want to improve on and then give it another shot next year. Already up to 252.

You deserve the long offseason, Eric. 24 weeks is too much, and like you said, your body probably was resisting the effort.
Enjoy and all the best for 2010.

I just thought of this -- what days are your typical workout days? Do you hit the gym on the weekend at all? If so, maybe I can make a quick ride out there and catch one with you if you don't mind. I can do back but arms are out for now - a bit of strain in the right elbow so pressing with triceps hurt and curls aren't exactly pleasant either. I have no idea where your gym is at. Let me know and I'll check the schedule - and the weather - I'll be riding my scooter out! Jeremy
