I just completed my first figure competition on April 14, 2007. I placed 4th in the Classic category (35+) I had a blast! I've decided to compete in the (Kevin Topka) BLNPA Northeast Natural Bodybuilding Fitness & Figure Championships on October 20, 2007 at Seekonk, MA. I took a week off the gym and off my diet (YUM!) By Wednesday I was asking to come back to the gym but my trainer Randy (Rubicon19) said NO! I work out with my husband Paul (Scrat). Workout Monday 4/23 Rest / Pause week Chest & Bi's (just like the rest of the world) Incl Db Press 30 x 5, 25 x8, 6 25 x 8, 6, 4 25, 8, 6, 4 Flat Db Press 25 x 8, 6, 4 25 x 8, 6, 4 Decl Db Press 30 x 5, 25 x 8, 4 25 x 8, 6, 3 BB Curl 30 x 10, 8, 4 30 x 10, 8, 5 Hammer Db Curl 10 x 10, 6, 6 10 x 10, 8, 6 Diet is almost the same everyday – it’s just easier for us that way. My carb meals will be Wednesday & Sunday dinner, usually consisting of adding a sweet potato. My diet will be adjusted over the next couple of weeks. I need to get back into the groove again. Protien 113 Fat 24.9 Carbs 50 Calories 925

Awesome, really glad that you started a journal and looking forward to following your training. If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? How much do you weigh? 925 cal seems really low to me, even on my no carb days I sit at about 1200 cal and I feel like I'm starving I think it's great that you train with your hubby. I don't always get to train with my bf but just having someone to talk shop with and help you push past those stumbling blocks is great. It also helps when both of you are following the same type of diet ;D

I'm 5' 5" 130 lbs. and 45 yrs. old. Now that I'm back at the gym and doing cardio again my diet will change over the next couple of weeks. I'd like to loose 10 lbs of fat for my next competition. It helps when you can work out with your other half atleast they understand this crazy lifestyle My husband is on an increasing diet, he is 146 lbs. trying to get to 160. His matabolism is always screaming fast, he burns off calories just talking. We should all be so lucky.

Tim - Thanks for the avatar! Didn't make it to the gym last night, so I'll do legs tonight. Did 20 minutes of Cardio at lunchtime yesterday burned 145 cals. Boss is in today so no gym at lunchtime, I'll have to do my cardio tonight after legs. I figure my legs are going to be killing me tomorrow so I might as well get it over with

So how are the legs today?
That is cool that your work is flexable enough that you can sometimes work out on your lunch, is there a gym at work?

My goals for the next show is to show a lot more muscle definition. Legs are sore today but it's a good sore We do have a gym at work (very old) but it's a gym. Unfortunately the ladies room is outside the gym down the hall. I can usually only get in 20 - 25 minutes before I have to run down the hall. I only have time for the gym when my boss is at another facility. I forgot my book this morning so I'll add my leg workout tonight after my shoulder session with Randy (IF I can lift my arms to the keyboard) and my diet.

I LOVE THE SORE FEELING AFTER LEG DAYS!!!!! When the hammies hurt just to sit down!!! A gym, whether old or not is AWESOME to have at work!!!!! That is rare anymore! How are you splitting your body for your wo's and how often are you lifting?

My lung capacity is aweful, I’ll just keep plugging away, better than 0 cals burned Dot, you also have to remember that the lighter you are the harder it is to burn calories. I could go at a higher incline and speed then my bf and he would still burn more calories than me . I've seen people wear wrist weights or weighted vests when doing their cardio. I'm gonna look into it and once I build my endurance back up, may give it a try.

Great wo's and a really good body split! Your cardio looks good to me. Why is your lung capacity not real good? I have had pleurisy in the past and had issues but now my breathing is FINALLY back to normal.

Next time I go for a physical I'm going to have a pulminary test done. I can't last 4 minutes on an elliptical before I have to rest for a bit then I have to rest every minute there after. Oh, by the way I'm on level 1. My DH says I actually look like I'm dying, I'm the only one actually panting and breathing hard. I see other people on there for 30 minutes doing just fine. I had pnumonia several times growing up, thankfully only had to stay in the hospital twice with it, but it's been a long time since I've had it. I smoked for 15 years but quit 16 years ago. I should be able to handle the elliptical for 16 minutes or more. I like the shorter time yet you burn more calories. I'll try upping the incline and the speed a bit. I know I could have gone faster last night but my legs were killing me Diet for 4/25 Protein 147, fat 36, carb 90, cals 1312 Diet for 4/26 Protein 167, fat 42, carb 89, cals 1382
