Same here, Frank. Know I cannot be here much lately because of crazy work schedule. My apologies for that.
Miss Tim and all of the posts that were exchanged here with everyone.
Does seem like a ghost town. Hoping that "wake" is premature and that we are on life support and rallying! ;D

To be honest though, based on what I read when I joined a few years ago, when I joined it was already slowing considerably and has been very quiet for the past couple of years for the most part.

I am going to start posting more, just been trying to catch up with my job after losing most of my biz it has come back. I am still training for my first contest and really owe alot of my inspiration and motivation along with the education from the very knowledgeable people here on this site. Chris you have been awesome at being consistant posting we need to learn from your example that in this game we need to communicate with others since that is how we learn and get better at this.

As some of you guys know, I have had alot of "life" stuff happen the past year and a half.....had me pretty much tied up and occupied.....things are going alot better now and my training is going as well as it has in the last 2 years. I have just really been busy with work the last 4-5 weeks and don't have as much time to post. School's over in two more weeks and I will be on alot more then........ hopefully we will gradually pick it up again

Hear you, Carl. Been busy here and cannot get here as often. May come on and look without posting as well. Would miss it if it were pulled.
Hoping Tim can return on a steadier basis soon. That would help.

I've basically offered Tim a revamp of this site i.e. Give Tim a brand new looking forum, one which looks much better with no annoying adverts!
I've sent Tim a message but no reponse as of yet.
Tim has alot to offer, with great knowledge and informative articles he has written. He deserves better.
I've always felt that this forum contains too many categories, cut it down to the essentials, it could be great. Tim's main concern last time round when I offered him his own forum was beginning from scratch. But change is good in my opinion. I think a whole revamp would kick start this site of Tim's back into the limelight again.
Let me know what you guys and girls think. You're part of this community. Would you like to see this forum revamped and updated without the adverts at the top of every page etc?
All Tim would need to do is purchase a domain name and hosting. I can offer that. I wouldn't charge anything for services. A new forum could be up and running in as little as a week!
Let me know what you all think?

Online communities need participation to thrive. Participation is garnered because of the content. If something about the format change promotes that, great. But offhand, just a style/layout change won't change the activity level if it is nothing more than that.
I've managed online communities off and on for about 10 years now ranging from sites as small as this to one that averaged 1500 users at any given minute. One thing they all have in common is that the consistently used sites require effort by moderators to create interest. They require uniqueness too - a challenge as there are so many fitness/BB sites.
One trend I have seen: Many small communities like this fade as their core members age. They move on, have families, get busy, lose interest, etc.

Well thought out input.
Honestly...I love this site and the people here. I have gotten some great advice and made a few friends too. But I started to lose interest a bit when I was posting journal entries to my journal, comments on other journals, and other notes I thought would be of interest, but would get no response. Started feeling like a moot point for awhile.
I keep pretty busy like most of you. Family, job, kids, house, training, camping, and add my wife being a competetive athlete that travels all over the USA.... but I try to share our journey with you....as if you were also my family.
I agree that format will not change the issue. I also agree that everybody gets pretty busy at times, interests change, and people move on.
However...I still like it here. That's why I called for a "wake". With death...comes re-birth. Some people beleive death to be the end. I personally beleive that death just moves us to a different understanding of life.
Just think of the stages of the butterfly....... beautiful.
AND....last but not least.....remember the other name by which we know TIM who brought us all together...."The Phoenix". That's right.....the Pheonix ROSE from the fire.
Pheonix.....I hope you see this. Time for this forum and ALL OF US ro rise from the fire. Brothers and Sisters of STEEL. Forged in the heat of our disire to be stronger, bigger, healthier and live on...... On a forum.....in the gym......WE do not quit. We push on.

I am all for anything to make this forum better and more interesting. I left Tim a message, and will try him again this weekend.
Not here as much as I'd like any more, just from schedule changes. But hope to see this forum continue. Like Frank said, some great people here.
