Well, I was going to b*tch and moan about what happened tonight, but in the last couple of hours I have begun to see what can be appreciated from a bad experience instead. We left the car parked at the gym while we went in to work out. When we came back out, about 1 hr. & 20 min. later, we found that someone had shattered the passenger side window, leaving glass all over the passenger seat, and of course a gaping hole where the window should have been. More bad news: we filed a report with Mall security, and found out that there has been a rash of the same thing happening over the last few days (breaking in to try to steal Christmas gifts I suppose.) Still more bad news: when I called the insurance company I was informed that we only have liability, when I thought we had comprehensive, so we will have to pay for this out-of-pocket (which we don't have right now since we just bought Christmas gifts). Then, I thought about the good news: *They didn't get anything out of the car, there wasn't anything really to steal except the radio, which wasn't touched *They didn't steal the car itself, or my purse which was locked in the trunk (thank God for that!) *We still have another car we can drive until we get it fixed, although it will be an inconvenience to share one car **My husband and I still have each other; everything else is replaceable I refuse to let those creeps ruin my holiday spirit, my day, or anything else! I'm counting my blessings tonight, and giving my hubby an extra kiss!!

Good for you, Xena!
Your mate is the first and foremost thing that you should value. You should be prepared to lose everything in order to keep him, as you obviously are.
I admire your perspective on the whole situation. And think--a month from now you will have a new window, and you will still have your purse and your man!
Life ain't so bad...
Merry Christmas, Xena.

Leave it to Xena to become a bliss ninny and find something good out of this very very very traumatic experiance! :Big Laugh:
Most trunk locks are there to keep honest people honest. Every trunk lock I've ever seen, is pretty wimpy. Meaning, you could have lost your purse had the person been really ambitious and gotten in your trunk with a screwdriver.
But your right, at least you able to find light in the whole situation and still remain happy in the Christmas spirit.

My Mom was always fond of saying that if life handed you lemons, try to make lemonade.
Sorry to hear of our troubles, Xena. But your upbeat attitude is in the true spirit of the holiday. Wish more were like you.
We should always try to count our blessings for what we have, not complain about what we lack.
Happy Holidays and God bless us everyone.

Now thats what I call Holiday Spirit.
Everything happens for a reason, and the way you looked at it was awesome.
Happy Holidays

That's the spirit Xena Same thing happened to us a few years ago. I typically have my dog in the back of the vehicle when we visit this particular place and for some reason I didn't that day as he would have been seriously hurt. I'm very thankful for that. Turned out some kids were driving around with a high-powered sling-shot and were firing large ball-bearings randomly at windows. Several pets were injured and one killed. Hope everything works out well!! Have a merry Christmas!! Troy
