After my AA group, while everyone else went out for some high priced fat, I hit the grocery store.
Trundling along with my red potatos, bananas, 4 packages of chicken breasts, gallon of low fat cottage cheese, salsa, boneless pork loin, I see this big, big, big dude in an "Underground Wrestling" tee. Whats in his cart? red potatos, bananas, chicken breasts, cottage cheese, salsa, whole wheat bread.
One point we pass, spot each others contents. That knowing nod thats says "Yep, it's bulking time".
Sometimes it's nice not feel COMPLETELY alone.
Peace B

I`ve ran into other bodybuilders or athletes at the grocery store a few times.
It`s weird to look into an almost mirror image of your cart.,
No ice cream,Ho Ho`s,Ding Dong`s,or candy.....makes you feel good to know you aren`t alone!! ;D

I rarelly run into US in grocery stores. Most shopping carts I see are filled with pizza, ice cream, cream cheese, pepsi, white bread, frozen dinners (this one makes me sad for them), cakes and the list goes on.

IN OKC we had an excellent chain of grocery/health/organic food stores called Pratts, similar to Whole Foods in concept.
Unfortunately, the thing fell apart in a nasty divorce. All the stores except the original that the husband inherited were liquidated to pay off the wife and her lawyers.
Still have Buy For Less, who's motto seems to be "If its considered food on the planet and legal to sell in the US, we have it" With a huge immigrant population that wont stand for high prices, they and the ethnic stores do a good job of keeping prices down.
Who needs Wal-Mart?

Hey, don't knock Wal-mart too much! I don't buy my food there (get that at Winco or the specials at Fred Meyer), but we just got a great video camcorder at Wal-mart for $200!

Who needs Wal-Mart? B There's a grocery chain mostly east of the Mississippi, called ALDI's, which seems to be similar to Buy for Less. Great prices on eggs, milk, cottage cheese and produce. No credit cards and they charge a nickle for a bag, although they don't mind or charge for a box that is lying around to stock your groceries in.

ALDI just got here this year- too far out of my way, but I do want to try it.
For fresh fish we have Cao Nguyen, HUGE asian supermarket. tanks and tanks of fresh farm raised fish, crustacean, and shellfish. You point, they yank it out of the tank and clean it for you while you wait.
Steamed whole catfish with lemongrass, anyone?
