Top results for those interested:
Million Dollar Baby won Best Picture and its director Clint Eastwood was named Best Director (2nd time for him).
Jamie Foxx was Best Actor winner for Ray. He was so good you think you're seeing Ray Charles on screen. Hilary Swank won her second Beat Actress award as the boxer in Million Dollar Baby, and for the same film Morgan Freeman won the supporting actor award.
Cate Blanchett won supporting actress for the Aviator, playing Katharine Hepburn.
Very good films and performances.

I saw Ray, and I agree Jamie definitely deserved it. Haven't seen Million Dollar Baby yet, but I heard it's good too. I did like the dress Hilary wore to the Oscars, although I'd like mine in a different color.

Also thought Hilary looked gorgeous in her gown. BTW, Incredibles won for Mest Animated Film and it was very well written with excellent animation. Recommend for kids of all ages (even my age!.

I saw Million Dollar Baby, and I can say that it deserved everything. The movie itself was just so moving, and I rarely say that about anything except bewbies!!! I hated the ending though, not that it was poorly done, but once you see it, you'll know what I mean. The Incredibles was such a great movie I saw it twice!!! I loved it. It was not a kids movie, when you think about it, there was some pretty complex parts of the story in there. Almost like they had a 50/50 team of kids and adults writing it. I still can't get "Million Dollar Baby" out of my mind at all. Just.....moving.

YB, agree on both films. MDB is extremely well done and does stay with you. Acting is flawless all the way around.
And Incredibles was just that. The screenplay was nominated, first time for an animated film. Would like to get this on DVD.

The only Oscar nominated movie I saw was "Sideways". There were some funny moments but it dragged, especially during the first 1/2. Basically the movie was a tome to angst, not very entertaining and uplifting, IMO.
I will probably not go to the theater to see "Million Dollar Babies", JMO, but I don't think euthanasia is a noble cause.
As for the Oscar show(which I didn't watch), the reviews(even from liberal sources) I saw is that Chris Rock bombed.
Get Jerry Seinfeld to do the show and maybe I'll watch.
